Off the back of another incredible summer that saw 'Cool You Off', 'Breathin' and 'Make Me Feel Good' become staples in the Beatport chart, EDX looks set to finish the year with the same gusto as he started with his latest EP, 'Collateral Effects', coming through on Enormous Tunes on 1st December. 

With his progressive sound specifically designed to make people smile, the two-track EP delivers some of EDX's signature melody work that'll instantly brighten up the dance floor. Its title track 'Collateral Effects' features an elevating, nu-disco beat that's layered with soft male vocals and hints of string and percussion work, whilst the B side named 'Empathy' takes things deeper with a dominating kick drum - and a great demonstration of Maurizio Colella, aka EDX's long-standing dedication to the scene.

After gracing the bill alongside Avicii and Laidback Luke at Ibiza's coveted open air club Ushuaia bcd in August, EDX is currently undergoing a massive tour of North America; proving that 2014 has been another stellar year for the Swiss. Besides his notable release success, EDX continues to head up his weekly 'No Xcuses' global radio show which presents the works of both popular and up-and-coming house producers' from around the world - and he's also a member of up and coming Swiss collective Helvetic Nerds. 

With an official music video for 'Make Me Feel Good' on the horizon and a remix of Sandy Rivera's BANG! coming through on Ultra Records, 'Collateral Effects' is a perfect way to round off the year and will see you right through the winter months.

The swarms of powdered-sugar-coated bumblebees buzzed listlessly over the sunset fields. Little streams of chocolate syrup ran through patches of colorful candy flowers. In the clouds, he saw such profound scenes as an angelic mother holding a newborn baby, and he saw that no human creation, no human work of art - from Beethoven to Rembrandt - could ever come even close to the beauty that was all around him. In that moment of pure joy, all of human effort seemed absolutely trivial and laughingly pathetic in comparison. The Bearded Man marveled as his magnificent beard seemed to grow, curl, and twist in front of his very eyes. He could slow down time or speed it up, depending on what he felt like. Originally released back in 2007 by Dubfire, EDX first lent his hand to remix duties on ‘Roadkill’ that same year, turning the minimal techno record into a mammoth electro house remix that dominated Ibiza and received support from every major DJ on the island and indeed the globe. Nearly a decade later, EDX has chosen to test his production prowess by revisiting the fan-favourite, masterfully infusing the original with his sublime sound to provide a divine deep house edit that is set to continue his worldwide dancefloor domination.

In celebration of the release, EDX gives insight into the importance of the song, “In 2007, Dubfire released his debut minimal techno record, ‘Roadkill’ and it’s a significant song in my career as I released a remix of it in 2008 that took over Ibiza and saw a ton of DJ support from Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren, and Swedish House Mafia, to name a few. The song still brings back many good memories from that exciting era, so I decided to revitalize it with a fresh version that features my deeper, sexier style, about 10 years since its release. With the recent announcement of my Privilege Ibiza residency this summer, this new ‘Roadkill’ version couldn’t have come at a better time, and I can’t wait for you all to hear it on the dance floor.”
 
Last year saw EDX’s career reach unprecedented heights, with his remix of Sam Feldt’s ‘Show Me Love’ amassing over 60 million plays on SoundCloud alone, not to mention releasing a slew of club-ready cuts such as ‘Belong’ and ‘Revered’ that saw him scoop the award for #1 top charting artist on Beatport of 2015. With his weekly ‘NoXcuses’ radio show and podcast hitting the 1 million downloads mark, earlier this year saw the Swiss sensation bring the revered show and event brand of the same name together with Swiss label Enormous Tunes for a hugely successful 15-date bus tour across North America. Bowing to increasing demand for more ‘NoXcuses’ events in Europe, EDX has just announced his return to the white isle for what promises to be an incredible 10-date residency at the world-renowned Privilege Ibiza.
