I am amazed.  This sounds like it was written by Bach in his later most matured years. Not an easy theme you created there either, and to have such sophisticated round of phrasing with and within it.  I enjoyed it tremendously. And am going to download it to my personal collection.  You surely must have taken a considerable time to compose this.  Thank You.

The ending was so awesome with those leaps to higher notes, that it managed to surprise me, even though the incredible quality of the entire piece already announced a beautiful ending.

The theme did not impress me much. But that was before I got completely floored in awe by the rest of the piece.

There seemed to be a new theme developing at 1:58, which was very beautiful. I was surprised that didn't develop further, and felt it was a missed opportunity. I was surprised that the piece returned to a (modified version of) the main theme. If the segment at 1:58 had been developed, the piece could've strayed farther from the theme in that middle section, and IMO would've been further enriched. Keeping in mind that I myself never composed anything approaching this level of richness and, quite possibly, don't know what I'm talking about. I still thought I'd let you know what my feeling was right at that point.

Mariza, the spot you mention at 1:58 is the transition to the theme inverted in the treble clef in the remote key of B minor. The bass voice at that same spot plays the theme in its 'normal' shape. (with a few passing tones),

(con't) But i must add, that when i hear a (someone else's) piece moving where I wouldn't, that can sometimes be the 'inspiration' for a piece that i would write.  To me it is curious, "Where would you take it?"

Oh, Mariza, I get what you are saying!  That Is a very interesting idea… To prolong the transition bit more, and have it descend!  Very Good!  (i might steal the idea;)

Finally found this version of the fugue again. No matter how well done the sibelius version was done, I think this human performed version is still superior. There's much more expressivity and drama.

I am a composer and pianist.
The pieces here are instrumental - ensemble and some solo piano, and some electro-acoustic  pieces.  There is a variety of influences; each piece sets up its own parameters, stylistically, (which at times can be ambiguous).
