The stars rarely align between Gregor Tresher and Petar Dundov's hectic schedules. But when they do, techno planets collide with explosive results. This earth-shattering production partnership began in 2011 with the still-stunning "Duo Tone" EP on Music Man. A trio of releases have followed during the last three years, including the almighty "Superconductor" on Cocoon 100 last summer. Fresh for 2014, the German/Croatian pact goes next-level with this firing slab of rich, majestic techno on Gregor's own imprint Break New Soil. Living up to its name, "Taurus" ignites with bullish precision. Pummelling with a classic palpitating bass and kick roll, percussive elements are gradually introduced before the shimmering riff enters the fray. Tingling with every twist and tweak, this will raise hairs on the back of every neck with a ten mile radius. For added measure, the duo have also included the Chord mix. Galvanising the same rhythmic mischief with full focus on the undulating bass, it's slippery, slinky and drenched in drama. A perfect DJ tool to tease in with the original mix, or a heads-down mission into the darkest corners of the dancefloor: this version ripples and ruffles in equal measure. Finally we hit "Flux". Taking a slightly softer, more melodic approach, here we find Gregor and Petar weaving a tight web of rushy arpeggios and subtle rhythmic keys. Arranged with detailed dynamism, every element spirals and surges to create full crowd meltdown. A truly special release, we can't wait until Gregor and Petar's schedule stars align again!

The return of Michael Klein was imminent. Considering the magnitude of his last offering, the „Drawing EP“, it was only a matter of time before he returned with another stellar parcel of forward thinking dance floor bombshells. With his latest contribution ‚Metals EP’, Michael presents four stunning numbers displaying not only his trademark sound, but his evolution and range as a highly promising new artist.
The expedition kicks off with „Silver“ and with it a lush presentation of the perfect balance between thrust and elation. While a persistent rush of momentum keeps the pace, slow yet infectious rises and vast ethereal cries of spacious flickers set the stage for a cosmic ride reminiscent of indigenous settings with boundless, star lit skies.
Following suit on the A side sees Michael return to his approach heard on his last EP. Somewhere between the traditional fundamentals and the future stylings of the most distinguished techno lies „Opaque“. With incredible force and exuberance, Klein delivers off kilter grooves that create a contagious, sweat laden exhilaration, nothing short of pure warehouse bliss.
Kicking off the B side is „Outer Shell“ and it is by far the most emotional and cosmic of all the tunes. Opulent melodics construct beams of radiant light found only in the outer reaches of deep space as flashes of meteoric rises and low bursts of impetus propel the auditor into a never-ending journey into a place where time and space cease to exist.
Wrapping things up is a slow burner entitled „Dura 2 feat. aGhost“. A tune that can be played fast or at the slower original speed, it's a beautiful demonstration of resistance and inflection. As chants of a mysterious female fill the room, shimmers of lavish chimes circle slowly to secure an impassioned sentiment of sorrow, excitement and desire.
To compliment the beauty of 'Dura 2' we've enrolled the services of Roman Lindau to put his spin on the original. With just a few elements Lindau expertly creates a monster of a dance floor stormer. As the bassline continually grows and shrinks with a simple but highly effective four to the floor groove, the excitement swells as short stabs of vocals entice the crowd to peaking trepidation.

"Hailing from Canada and Egypt respectively, both artists have enjoyed immense success in their solos careers. Famed for releases on Bedrock and his own Bad Pony imprint, Tone Depth remains one of Canada's most prominent progressive house artists. Similarly, Hazem Beltagui has quickly established his Ampish alias as one of Egypt's top progressive minded exports. Amidst much praise, the duo showcased their first collaborative work through Jerome Isma Ae's Jee Productions imprint in June of this year. Now stepping up to Tash's Movement Recordings, Tone Depth & Ampish present their hugely anticipated double a-side offering 'Movement / Marathon', alongside remixes from Jonas Saalbach and Ziger.

Beginning with 'Movement', Tone Depth and Ampish explore smooth, voluminous grooves and warm, velvety textures. Anchored by rippling waves of bass and a strong rhythmic core the piece flows effortlessly through hazy melodies and indistinct vocals. A drifting centrepiece along with tasteful modulation adds just the right amount of drama for a smooth yet exhilarating third act finale. The companion piece 'Marathon' comes in a touch bigger and more energetic. It's rolling groove brings drive as neatly tailored percussion and cascading motifs add perfectly to its sleek cadence. Clustered claps brighten up the main break before a filtered storyboard and wave of noise reignites the groove for a magical dance floor moment.

The lone interpretation of 'Movement' is provided by Jonas Saalbach who is making his first appearance on the label. Fresh off the release of his 'Perspective' album courtesy of Einmusika the Berlin based artist has continued on the cutting edge of melodic techno and deep house. His emotive creations have also found a home on John Digweed's Bedrock Records and Sol Selectas. Now making his much anticipated Movement Recordings debut Jonas puts his own unique twist on 'Movement'. Stripping the framework down, the German artist sculpts punchy beats and warm bass swells into a melodious foundation. Charming vocal edits add mightily to the storyboard before a near two minute interlude weaves kaleidoscopic arps and heavenly pads into a grandiose conclusion. 

The release concludes with Ziger providing the lone interpretation of 'Marathon'. The Greek producer has become one of Movement's core artists in recent years while also finding a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Now following his 'Faith In The Future' single from June of this year Ziger returns, closing the release out with an excellent rendition of 'Marathon'. Known for his pure progressive sensibilities, the Greek artist ups the intensity while maintaining the vibe and drive of the original. It's a heads down affair with a dark underbelly, razor sharp stabs and rugged rhythms carrying the journey to a stunning break...."

Here's another mashup that d.Santis ( @dsantismusic ) and I did. One of my currently favorite producers is Ramon Bedoya ( @deejayramonbedoya ). He remixed/edited Dubfire's remix of Grindhouse (Original by Radio Slave).

This mashup was inspired when Juan Beatz posted "Techno Vocals" by Marc Houle on Instagram. We twisted, chopped, looped, and laid the vocals/acapella of this track over Ramon's recent edit.
