German duo Obscure Shape & SHDW drop three robust Techno tracks in their first full release on Rekids this May.

One of the most exciting acts in Techno today, Obscure Shape & SHDW are the founders of From Another Mind - the label and party series making waves in South-Germany. Aside from Rekids, where they remixed Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’ last year, the pair’s abilities in the studio have seen them invited by Slam for two separate remixes of Monoloc and Envoy on Soma, with more projects to be announced.

‘Himmel Und Erde’ is a cavernous cut boasting colossal kicks and skipping percussion before a tantalising melody comes into play. ‘Am Ende Der Welt’ is more deep and atmospheric in comparison, blending dusky percussion with echoing synths until ‘Gefallene Engel’ demonstrates syncopated drums and an otherworldly hook that conjure up a mesmerising aesthetic to conclude the release.

UK techno legend Mark Broom returns to Rekids in February to release four uplifting cuts in the form of his ‘Break 97’ EP.

Mark Broom’s musical career is certainly something to behold – with over 150 releases over the past 25 years, on top of regular gigs across the world’s most renowned institutions, there’s no doubting his work ethic and his influence upon the scene. A prolific artist and true pioneer in the techno world, having worked with revered labels such as Warp, R&S, Ifach and Soma, and in more recent times Blueprint, EPM Music, Red Sonja Records and his own Beard Man Records, his ‘Break 97’ EP kick-starts 2019 for Radio Slave’s Rekids as the imprint adds yet another outstanding name to its roster following the likes of DJ Deep, Sebo K, DJ Spider and more.

‘Break 97’ sets the tone of the EP with a fusion of techno and disco, delicately blending funk-infused chords and resonating kicks amongst groove-filled vocals, before ‘Heart’ delivers inspiriting disco samples, punchy low end and elevating strings to reveal an effervescent aesthetic throughout. ‘EFB’ takes things up a notch, offering a dancefloor focused cut balancing rattling highs, vibrant synth flutters and a muffled vocal line, until ‘G Theme’ rounds out proceedings armed with robust percussion, electrifying vocals and undulating, euphoric keys.

Grammy-nominated producer Nic Fanciulli joins Radio Slave’s Rekids this February with two thumping cuts entitled ‘Understand’.

Having appeared before as a remixer of Radio Slave’s seminal ‘Grindhouse’ in 2012, Saved Records founder Nic Fanciulli now finally joins the Rekids imprint for the first time with original material. Highly regarded for holding residencies in some of the biggest super clubs in the world like Ibiza’s Space and Pacha, the longstanding British DJ is also responsible for four legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. His production distinction spans to a revered Grammy nomination at the age of only 26 for Best Recording Remix as part of Buick Project, to his acclaimed debut album 'My Heart' with collaborations alongside the likes of British Rock legend Damon Albarn.

The title track opens the release with submarine-like bleeps chiming over a mysterious voice repeating “understand”, while a growling bass dives deep beneath a thundering drum groove. On the flip, ‘Where U At’ features mesmerising vocal cries that flutter between upbeat stabs and bouncy percussion that expertly bolsters a driving low end.

Fanciulli’s arrival on Rekids follows a strong 2018 for the label featuring appearances from Butch, Mark Broom, Nocow, Sebo K and SRVD (Matt Edwards & Patrick Mason).

Patrick Mason and Rekids boss Matt Edwards return for their second appearance as SRVD with two cuts entitled ‘RAW FILES’.

Not confined to a single art form, Patrick Mason is a young creative at the forefront of Berlin’s art, fashion, dance music and LGBT scene; an influential club kid who developed a friendship with Matt Edwards after a chance meeting in Panorama Bar, resulting in numerous studio sessions and improvised live sets. Joining forces in 2018, the pair adopted their SRVD moniker – an alias inspired by New York’s vogue scene – before dropping their debut release on Rekids, playing at various clubs (notably Panorama Bar), not to mention an unforgettable performance at Boiler Room x Pornceptual.

‘The Yard Man’ presents rattling drums, piercing vocal chants and a tormenting melody that SRVD has been destroying dancefloors with over the last year. On the flip, ‘Brotha’ presents a compelling groove as a shuffling rhythm joins abrasive synths and Mason’s penetrating voice.

Our latest premiere features a track titled 'Stop Crying' by promising French artist Darzack which is forthcoming on his 'A Night Lulled By Cupid Cygals' EP on Parisian label Take Hit Records.

Growing up the artistic hub of Brittany in France, Darzack’s intensive drum and percussions training, piano and singing lessons led him to begin experimenting with electronic music and hardware discovery. 

Darzack’s productions create bridges between various musical styles becoming a huge musical melting pot featuring floaty melancholic moments, acid touches and breakbeat inspirations.  

On the flip side, ‘Stop Crying’ lays down fast-paced drums, rising pads and cosmic leads driving the energy into oblivion.

The EP also sees Darzack invite JoeFarr for remix duties on 'Fucking Masked Depression' which is an absolute killer as you would expect from the man.

Moments In Time welcome a host of hot talents for a new Various Artists compilation that kicks off their 2020 on a fine footing. 

Opening up the EP is label boss Rudosa, and his tune 'Dominance' which has already gained huge support from Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Witte, Richie Hawtin, and ANNA. It comes after a string of Beatport chart-toppers on labels like Suara, Noir and We Are The Brave and is another standout offering. It is a real acid monster, with hammering techno drums and warped synths barrelling along at an enthralling pace. 

Frenchman Blicz has had props from Amelie Lens, who included one of his tunes on her fabric mix, and with 'Gate 212' he lays down more of that perfectly dark, driving, no frills and uncompromising techno. 'When Angels Cry' keeps the pressure on with more streamlined acid techno grooves that are embellished with icy hi hats and rumbling bass. It comes from the Dutch outfit Hush & Sleep whose dark melodies have taken them all over the world in the last 12 months. Next, Italian pair Reform have impressed on outlets such as Etruria beat, Second State and Quartz Rec and get hands in the air with their trance land 'Holy Graal.' 

Last of all, Gijensu's 'Inferno Onleyene' is white knuckle techno with searing synth lines and hard hitting drums that take you into the next dimension.

This is edgy melodic techno with real future energy and makes a huge impact, emotionally and physically.
