1) Google Ads

Especially if you’re a service-based business like lawyer, accountant, plumber, Heating & Cooling, carpet cleaner etc. 

People are actively searching for your services on Google.

Having a paid ad ensures you’re at the top of Google, hence you will get the most clicks/calls.

If you’re not on the first page, you are nowhere.

The majority of the clicks/calls go to the first few top spots on the page.

2) Social Media Influencer

Partner with a local social media influencer. They don’t have to be big but must have an active following. If they’re related to your industry, even better.

For example, a foodie influencer. And you’re a restaurant owner.

You can pay the foodie a few hundred dollars and they can promote your restaurant on social media. 

You can also exchange services as opposed to paying (IE Free meal)

3) Run paid video ads on Facebook and Instagram

Run social media video ads in your city only, targeting your ideal client.

Example: Say you offer tax & bookkeeping services for business owners.

You would create a 5-10 min video that explains common accounting mistakes, how to minimize the taxes you pay (legally) etc.

The video should capture attention within the first few seconds. It should also have a clear call to action at the end (book your free consultation).

Also, add embedded captions or subtitles in your video. People are often browsing without the sound, so if you have captions, it gives your ideal client a chance to consume your content.

You would then run that video as an ad, in your city only, and select business owners 30+ years or older as a target. 

By narrowing down your targeting (you are not advertising to everyone), your video will be more effective. 

Your ideal clients will start calling you.

Now the bottom line is this, by combining these 3 strategies, you will increase revenue. 

People searching for you on Google will find you.

When a marketer I respect a lot, Dan Lok, was starting out as a copywriter, decades ago, he tried many things.

Btw, Copywriting is the art (and science) of writing a compelling text that influences people to do something, in most cases, buy something. 

To generate business, Dan tried cold calling, cold emailing

Walking into businesses and offering his copywriting services. 

Almost none of it worked.

He re-wrote the sales copy on the landing page of a prominent marketer & businessman website.

A good question to ask is:

Who already has your target clients as a customer? But is not your direct competition.

For example, as an IT Service provider, you might partner up with an Ad Agency that also serves small business owners. 

If you’re an accountant you can partner up with a lawyer.

A mortgage broker with a real estate agent, home builder.

House painter with a real estate agent.

If you sell to dentists, you can partner up with dental software vendors, dental supply, dental office outfitters (chairs, etc), accountants that deal only with dentists.

Step 2: Offer something valuable, without expectations. 

Dan re-wrote the sales copy of the landing page.
Can you offer something valuable, related to your services products? Perhaps it’s lifetime access to your software.

Or free dentist appointment for your family. 

Or a solid content marketing strategy for free.

Step 3: Deliver your valuable offer.

So say you record a long detailed video that shows a business owner how they can improve their website in terms of conversions, sales, etc.

You now need to deliver that video.

You need to identify what are the most likely channels for that video to be consumed.

AKA, is it email, linked in, twitter, etc.

Now the bottom line is this, by strategically identifying one key individual, delivering value without expectations, you can significantly increase your own business, revenue.
