Live recording of my own Lament for Solo Cello. This work is a study in aleatoric forms.

Lament for Solo Cello

My liver performance of Iannis Xenakis’s work for solo cello and ensemble: Epicycles. This work is rarely performed or recorded but is, in my opinion, one of the most compelling of his more mathematical works. There are some issues with my performance, but I think it is important to have accessible for streaming for a resource for more performers. 

Conducted by Kevin Michael Holzman and performed by CCM Musica Nova, April, 2023.

KARST [2015-16]

Vu’cumpra’ is based on an eponymous poem which describes a summer departure from Milan, by the Italian poet Vivian Lamarque. The musical setting derives phrases from the rhythmic structures of the text. Words and each letter in the poem are assigned a pitch from the harmonic series of C, the latter pitch occurring only twice throughout the piece in sudden climaxes.
