Hot Creations deliver ‘Words Gone’, the first single from the forthcoming artist album ‘Love Somebody’ by Parisian luminary Popof.

Featuring the handsome voice of Arno Joey, ‘Words Gone’ is a stunning slice of electronic music with crossover appeal, giving us a taster of what is in store for the album. Cadenza boss Luciano’s remix dives into tribal percussion, while main man Jamie Jones flips into a new gear, introducing a new melody, deep pads and emotive keys. Canadian techno legend Marc Houle is last to remix, using a bright synth melody to add a new groove.

Voted Best Newcomer artist at the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2009, Popof has gained notoriety for his work with Cocoon, and remixing the likes of Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, and Moby. One of the most downloaded artists in techno music, he was appointed the official mentor of the Paris Techno Parade 2013's fifteen year anniversary, a great honour he shared in front of 300.000 participants.

One of the biggest names in dance music, Luciano has released on labels such as Perlon, Transmat and Lo-Fi Stereo. Aside running Hot Creations, Hot Trax and Paradise, Jamie Jones is this year launching his new imprint Emerald City alongside Lee Foss. Another huge name in the business, live artist Marc Houle can be found on imprints such as Richie Hawtin’s Minus and his own Items & Things.

When a deservedly hyped label like No.19 Music states that its biggest release is about to drop then a certain amount of attention is due and that’s exactly what the label’s 19th release, Tanner Ross’ ‘bSide EP’, deserves.

Despite having clocked up an impeccable discography that takes in collaborations with Soul Clap, Claude Vonstroke as well as output for Freerange, Mothership, Culprit and K7!  this is Ross’ first solo release under his given name and is causing a enormous buzz via consistent plays from Art Department, Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap, Crosstown Rebels main-man Damian Lazarus and more. 

Adding to the two stunning originals, ‘bSide’ and ‘For You ft. Flo Night’, and pushing things into unmissable territory is a brilliant remix of the latter from Crosstown Rebels / Wolf & Lamb family member, Deniz Kurtel.

‘bSide’ itself is a mid-tempo, lazy groove which gently opens out with warm delayed vocals and creeping drums - hypnotic and subtle, it’s one hell of an intro but the drop into the fat, sumptuous bass hook is pure joy. Steadily joined by soaring, high-end keyboard licks that balance the track beautifully, there’s a sudden realisation the title of ‘bSide’ is a in-joke that’s being shared.

‘For You ft. Flo Night’ continues proceedings with a sexy, blissed out pace. Thudding, raw  and mechanical disco drums underpin yet another rich, dominant Moog bass that oozes P, G and just about every other funk there is. Floating soundscapes, gloriously sliding top lines and Flo Night’s effected vox ebb and flow like liquid while a beat-perfect arrangement allows every element to truly sing which makes for a timeless slice of music. 

Rounding things off is the prodigious talent that is Deniz Kurtel with her version of ‘For You ft. Flo Night’. Building from skittering percussive hits, dubbed-out vocals and spacious ambience into an incredibly catchy bassline, it’s a remix that unravels and combines melodies so impressively it begs repeated listens. 

With a full length for Wolf & Lamb in progress plus collaborations with Deniz Kurtel  and Soul Clap on the way, this is an essential piece of listening and one that celebrates a contemporary star….

Always surprising us with their A&R skills, Hot Creations are back with another outstanding release, this time from rising star Greg Pidcock, who is soon to release his debut album on the label. Blame Game is fresh and beautifully crafted with deep vocals and warm melodies, building effortlessly into sonic bliss. On remix duty, Minus favourite Hobo picks up the pace to deliver two on point reworks aimed steadily at the dance floor. A formally trained artist, Greg received his BFA in Intermedia & Cyberarts when he was 20. Introduced to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss in 2012, Pidcock was quickly signed to the label and has spent the last year working on his debut album. Studying in Montreal he soon became the Creative Director at Montreals legendary Cherry nightclub, DJing alongside legends. This led to the formation of Bad Pony Records with Tone Depth of Bedrock fame - a process, which firmly cemented his goals of creating music and art. Currently the resident DJ at the renowned Velvet Nightclub in Montreal and working with Turkish composer, Mercan Dede, as a sound engineer, Greg Pidcock is about to explode onto the international scene with his blend of passionate, sexy, heavy house. Member of the Minus family since 2007, Joel Boychuk aka Hobo very much holds his own identity. With an early Detroit influence he has explored his own form of techno expressionism: sometimes dark and abstract, others more sample heavy and groove based. With a lot of time spent on his recently released album Iron Triangle, Hobo now plans to focus on DJing after being an almost exclusively live performer for 6 years. Both original and remix have been featured heavily in Jamies recent sets..
