If the single, “Morning Coffee”, was a novella, it would be a short story following a woman into and out of a bad relationship. The first song, “Hard to Stand”, begins in naivety and ends in repression. The dramatic ending climaxes into the second song, “Morning Coffee”. Here she stands up to her lover turned captor: “Slams her mug down on the veneer, grabs her coat and out the door, Morning Coffee, there will be no more.”
