D.J MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music closes out the month of July by presenting new interpretations of Callings From the East by Jadon Fonka. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Jadon Fonseka aka Jadon Fonka has been a regular contributor to SLC-6 since making his label debut in 2023 with Beyond the Dark, a track featured as part of the labels SIX: Stage-18 collection, and co-produced alongside fellow countryman Noise Generation. Callings From the East would follow shortly thereafter in 2024 as part of the SIX: Stage-19 collection. Operating in solo capacity, the track proved to be a standout in Jadons discography, beloved for its exotic percussion, cosmic motifs and cross-cultural musicality. Now, looking to breathe new life into the track for 2025s summer season, SLC-6 invites Lena Storm and Greg Tomaz to re-imagine the production in their own essence. Providing the first interpretation of Callings From the East is SLC-6 stalwart Lena Storm. Now making her sixth appearance on the label, the Russian artist adds her own techno inspired twist on the track, adding a tougher club-effective state of mind, with a strong emphasis on the primary elements, along with a healthy dose of percussive cadence. Rounding out the release with the second and final interpretation is Greg Tomaz who makes his label debut. The Indian artist arrives on the strength of projects for Juicebox Music, Pattern, RKP and Stripped Digital, all of which stand out as discography highlights. Pushing a strong progressive sensibility, the Bangalore resident adds a chunky groove-centric approach to Callings From the East, one which excels on its use of prophetic effects and mature sense of restraint.

Here is my Boom Festival 2025 set. I love this festival from the bottom of my heart. The spirit of oneness and connection on the dancefloor is strong. Everybody is plugged into the source. As an artist and raver, I can be 100% myself. 

This set is quite introspective for such a big stage. I find that for Boom, a flowing, psychedelic approach works better than playing banger after banger. I learned this after witnessing Wata Igarashi deliver a super deep yet thoroughly satisfying set here two years ago. Story trumps climax.
