A seven-time multi-category finalist/semi-finalist in the internationally renowned UK Songwriting Contest (including second place in the Jazz/Blues category) since the early 2000s, Greg Walker's Straight From The Source 1 held the No.1 position simultaneously in the overall Jazz chart, the Latin Jazz chart and the Brazilian Jazz chart on the independent artists mp3tunes website during 2004-2005 - the latter, almost without break for several months.

Straight From The Source 2 - described by one reviewer as 'superbly crafted and eminently listenable... supremely lyrical tunes that make this the consummate second album" - followed in 2006 and proved equally popular, with I Should Know By Now reaching the finals of the Instrumental category in that year's UK Songwriting Contest.

End of Summer, (January 2012) and Mosaic(September 2015) again feature guitar-led latin and jazz-infused instrumentals, several of which reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest.

Greg Walker also co-wrote the soul-jazz dance floor classic, Second Opinion, recorded and performed by Victor Haynes and available on the Expansion Records 2009 album, Soul Togetherness.
