We’re proud to present the next instalment of the Dispatch Blueprints series from the legendary Ink & Gremlinz. Writing music together for almost 3 decades, they have pioneered their own take on drum and bass and so they make the perfect pairing to continue the Blueprints ethos, presenting their take on classic, old skool sounds with contemporary production techniques.

‘Juno Dawn’ is a tribute to the ‘atmospheric’ tracks heard at legendary clubs like ‘Speed’. It is a direct reference to Ink’s own ARX (Architecture Recordings) sound and style, a seven minute journey through the depths of these emotive and imaginative soundscapes.

In contrast ‘Faceless’ is a nod to the ’Horsemen’ sound that Ink & Gremlinz have been part of for many years – created originally by The 4 Horsemen (Ink, Loxy, Dylan and Keaton) this tough and rolling sound found home on labels like Renegade Hardware and Metalheadz – primarily focusing on b-boy break beats, with those deep tribal and tech elements that continue throughout, developing in a continual roll out.

Hi folks! To celebrate my forthcoming birthday tomorrow, and as a token of gratitude towards all of you out there, I want to share a gift, a new free track: Mineral - One Day. 

It is an atmospheric drum'n'bass tune strongly influenced by  the 90's golden era of atmospheric dnb. I want to dedicate this song to my late grandmother, who was always very supportive towards my music. She used to listen for hours while I played the piano and improvised melodies of my own back then. Some of the piano stems in this song are recordings of myself playing the piano over two decades ago. I wanted to grasp a moment of time from the past and carry it to the present moment.

As you may notice, this track has a relatively long intro, around 2,5 minutes in total. And the total length of the track is nearly 9 minutes. The BPM is 160, giving some space to breath & groove both for the breaks and the melodic parts. Wanted to create something slow, yet evolving. So leave your stress for about 10 mins, relax, grab a cup of coffee/beer and I enjoy the song. - Mineral 9.12.2022

Beware of the basslines...

Acid_Lab drops his new and fresh four track EP called "Dark Justice", which is a big salute to Jungle veterans and legends like Ray Keith or Twisted Anger.

Known for coming with some rugged rollers, Acid_Lab is continually working and developing his production skills and is able to turn his hands to any sound or style he wishes.

The Jungle roller "Conscious Music" sets the tone straight off! This tune combines stepping beats, with relentless basslines and 90s fx sounds.

"Riddim Culture" and "Don Dada" are taking no prisoners! Both tunes playing with quiet similar ideas. Just mix some heavyweight Amenbreaks, with raw basses, deep pads and razor-sharp edits.

"Dark Justice" is running a mysterious Sci-Fi sample and could be a long lost tune for an older "Alien" movie.

First up, Law & Wheeler give "Majestic Intelligence" an update for 2023, keeping the essence of the original mix but cranking up the energy and atmosphere for a whirlwind of breakbeats and breakdowns.

Meanwhile on the flip, Samurai Music's Eusebeia brings his own signature beat edits and dark synthesis to "Nema, Child Of The Void".

Discovering the sounds of Jungle in the mid 90's, Toronto native Gremlinz became obsessed with Drum & Bass and the culture behind it, fully immersing himself into collecting, DJing and learning to produce the music that had taken over his life.

A few years of honing his craft later and Gremlinz secured his debut release in 2004 as part of the MDZ04 LP on Metalheadz. A formidable introduction and a statement of intent for this uncompromising maverick artist, made all the more surreal by the fact that Headz was his favorite label and the most influential to the development of his taste and sounds from day one.

Following his first outing, Gremlinz has gone on to drop a constant stream of tracks on a who's who of top labels, and with each release, the accolades have poured in. Tracks on Renegade Hardware, 31 Records, Cylon, Architecture, Rupture, AMAR and Paradox Music highlight his multi-faceted style, allowing him to drop both break beat-heavy B-Boy affairs and more nuanced dubby half step tunes seemingly at will.

His singular approach has been well-received on both sides of the pond, resulting in a global demand for his upfront DJ sets as well as landing him a spot on Loxy & Ink's HORSEMEN collective, aligning him with a superb stable of producers and a never ending supply of fresh music.

2015 saw Gremlinz set up the much heralded UVB-76 imprint with fellow contemporaries Ruffhouse, which has since grown to include 3 equally well received offshoot labels, Droogs (also co-run by Overlook), 4 6 2 5, and The Stone Tapes (Curated by Overlook & Vega Ruffhouse). Each having a devoted, worldwide fan base eager for the next slice of genre pushing innovation. 

In 2018 Gremlinz career came full circle with a renewed focus in the studio alongside longtime friend and now close collaborator Jesta resulting in a return to Metalheadz in the form of a Gremlinz & Jesta EP on METHXX and a scene stealing joint effort with Quartz.

Now fully reintegrated into the Headz stable, and with the full support and nurturing of Goldie himself, Gremlinz & Jesta are locked in the studio meticulously crafting what will be their debut artist album for the storied imprint dropping in the imminent future...
