As a new artist to welcome to the Grey Bar Hotel roster, baez makes his debut on the Berlin label with his EP 'Walking The Line Of Lunacy'. The Miami-based DJ and producer is a well-known face in the genres of melodic and organic house, proving his talents by releasing music in some of the industry's finest labels such as Magician On Duty andNie Wieder Schlafen, just to name a few. As if that wasn't enough, baez also manages his own imprint Minds Alike Records - showcasing top class producers from around the world. His newest EP incorporates his trademark sound while taking the listener on a melodic journey with the title track 'Walking The Lines Of Lunacy'. The second single "Mango" is a deep and timeless groove that will surely keep bodies moving on the dance floor.. .

Talking about label owners, we can proudly introduce the remixer Arteforma. Also known under his alias Thomas A.S., Arteforma focuses on melodic and deeper productions. With prior releases on Kindisch or Seven Villas Music, to name just a few, the Italian doesn't miss out on opportunities to prove his musical diversity. His label Cervidae Recordings, founded in 2015, continues to deliver the finest underground minimal and house tunes up to this day. His remix combines analogue percussion with deep and thorough soundscapes.

Swann Decamme, a name that needs little to no introduction. The French continues to deliver countless, outstanding creations on labels such as Earthly Delights, Minds Alike, Janowitz Records, Time Has Changed and many more. The French producer and DJ showcases darker productions in one of his own projects - Curiosity Music, his imprint based in Paris. His interpretation of 'Walking The Lines Of Lunacy' will ensure every listener knows, what so-called groove is referred to.

Pedro Sanmartin, the Barcelona-born artist, finally joins the Grey Bar Hotel crew, rounding off the release. With prior releases on Seven Villas Music or Everything Will Be OK - he is a talent not to be missed. His interpretation is a strong addition to the rest, combining African percussion with melodic interludes and dreamy pads to dive into Pedro's very own world of sound.

The EP by baez, including the three magic interpretations by Arteforma, Swann Decamme and Pedro Sanmartin will surely be one of the finest and deepest releases this year.

A seasoned artist with an established catalogue, Kiantek returns to Grey Bar Hotel with his sophomore EP, “Alchemist”. 

From an early age, the Berlin based artist found a passion for electronic music. Always aiming to cast himself at the bleeding edge of underground dance music, Kiantek has spent considerable time understanding modern production techniques, allowing for the creation a paradigm shift in what is possible within the electronic music framework. From Downtempo and Indie Dance to Techno and Organic House, Kiantek’s production portfolio is an eclectic blend of genres with a self-confessed aim to “build tension and provide musicality to audiences” with a view to move beyond the traditional dancefloor sound.

Finding his way onto Dalam Muzika in mid-2013 with his “Deep Connections” debut, Kiantek quickly saw his music allied to such blue-chip imprints as Friction Free, Doppelgaenger and Deepsessions Digital. May 2021 saw a Grey Bar Hotel debut with the 3-track “Divine Patterns” and it is now an honour to welcome back Kiantek to the label with another imaginative musical triptych.

Opening proceedings, “Burning Susia” bristles with bassline emotion as a growling analogue bassline gradually filters over the sonic horizon. In tandem, a glittering arpeggio marries itself perfectly to the low-end brio as deep kick and ticking hi-hat top line create a club-friendly framework. A glorious free-flowing lead synth enters the fray at the mid-point making perfect use of the beatless backdrop to sit front and centre before the track builds to a rousing crescendo in the third movement.

Continuing the deep rhythmic backdrop and rich harmonic narrative, the aptly titled “Berlin 6 AM” shimmers in the early morning gloaming. Building in intensity throughout, subtle urgency is provided via a rapid-fire shaker percussion and off-beat snare while a glorious arpeggio waxes and wanes with golden light gradually radiating over the cityscape below. Pausing for breath at the breakdown, Kianek’s production picks up the pace once more in the second half with metronomic beat at percussive flair providing the perfect vehicle to lift the vibrant sonic melange to its conclusion.

The title track continues to build upon the sonic characteristics of its partner tracks as “Alchemist” trips across a meticulously programmed rhythmic foundation, rising and falling with consummate dancefloor ease. Kept in check by a chest-thumping kick, a beautifully hypnotic arpeggio transforms itself in magical patterns that dip and soar with sonic abandon aided by a swathe of textured pads that add further to the overall ambience.

A stunning triptych of musical chemistry, Kiantek’s “Alchemist” has managed to produce pure aural gold.

For the past five years, we've been exploring the intersection of electronica and house whilst enjoying the privilege of creating “modern jazz” with like-minded creators.
Each track on the album represents a different phase of this journey and showcases the diversity of music we love. More so, it sets the stage for exciting new and already-known artists on Grey Bar Hotel. As the backbone of our label, we are very excited to have the pleasure of working with such talented individuals. 
It is a time to express our gratitude for the artists we've collaborated with, the audiences we've connected with, and the broader musical landscape we've been a part of. It's about the power of community to inspire, challenge, and support us, and to push us beyond our comfort zones and creative boundaries.
Nonetheless, this album only marks the start of an exciting future that is yet to come. Therefore, this album is not only a review of the last five years but similarly an outlook for the future.
