Evening with Clouds is an exploration in live granular synthesis with the Mutable Instruments Clouds module.
Clouds is integrated into my pedal chain via the Patch Box. 

For this patch, I ran my Piccolo-strung Bass through (in order) a Volume Pedal, Hall of Fame Reverb, Clouds (stereo out) and Timeline. 
An external expression pedal was patched to the Clouds "Density" CV jack to modulate the number of audio grains generated and to enhance the stereo effect.

Evening with Clouds is an exploration in live granular synthesis with the Mutable Instruments Clouds module.

For this installation I used: Bass Guitar(with Piccolo strings) into Clouds (via Patch Box) directly into the Computer Interface (using Clouds' Stereo Output). I ran 2 Volume Pedals into the Expression Inputs on the Patch Box.

The two expression pedals are patched to the Density and Blend for the most part. Using a Stackable, I also connect to Size and Position on the fly.

Netart Piece by The Current Sea

This is a series of loops created largely from piano samples I recorded on my parents' upright piano for use on "You Are The Crystal," the second in a triptych of microsites created by The Current Sea.

This is from my release on KMAN Tapes and is the end of Side A. The instrumental layer is a single take performance using bass guitar, while the field recording is taken from my childhood home in Englewood, Florida—it's bamboo rustling in the wind.

fasca.de in an online installation created by The Current Sea for The Wrong's Hypermedia Dreams digital pavilion. The process involved making moulds of both my and Sarah Zucker's face, paint the faces green, attaching them to a green screen, and pouring paint over them giving an illusion of a disembodied face appearing out of nowhere. This didn't pan out exactly, as is often the case with experimental art/ideas, but the fluid movement of the paint on the faces did create an interesting movement.

The musical composition uses 8 pre-recorded loops which are played by tapping on one of the faces. On the desktop site, you can play all 8 at once, in any order, and can be a solitary experience. However, when viewed on a mobile phone, you are restricted to seeing/hearing only one, random face/loop combo. To fully experience the piece, you need more than one person; ideally a group.

I used modular synth, with the Morphagene providing most of the noise while I manually adjusted knobs and the like.

"Flaps For Jackie" is music by Brian James Griffith for an unrealized album of poems and parables by the legendary and mysterious soul singer Jackie Shane. Their mutual friend, Numero Group producer Douglas Mcgowan made the connection, and Griffith spun an album's worth of field recordings, textures, distant melodies, and subtle oscillations based on Ms. Shane's specification -- "I want the sound of doves flapping... flap... flap". The mercurial Ms. Shane was impressed with the results, but never completed the project, and passed on in February, 2019.

Dream Sphere

This is the first iteration of a composition sandbox built around the Norns' Timber Player script. The samples are taken from a public xylophone and various sea objects.
