The Mood Series continues to push along in 2023 with quality release after quality release. #81 comes to us from a producer who is getting plenty of attention and rightly so! Krystian Shek is becoming a house hold name the last few years especially after in total now well over 25 years of a brilliant music discography. 'In The Dense Of Night' is his latest EP but first for the Greyscale label. The depth you get from 4 tracks here is truly astounding. 'Surabaya' begins the EP on a strong note. There is a tremendous balance of ominous and positivity within the track. It hits all the right notes and is a strong dancefloor mover. Just deep enough but not losing why dance music should ultimately be fun. The title track has a great two-step shuffle to it. Immediately, it has you nodding your head. It already pulled you in with the hypnotic rhythm. From there, things take a turn for the darker...an evil grin appears on your face. For those that like to dance in the dark. 'Fluids' is a gentle builder but don't let that comment fool you. This has just enough tech to get those feet tapping. The break and buildup of the melody is pure magic. Amazing how balanced this track is. Subdued but still crushes. Production genius there! 'Sukhumvit' is the deepest here of the four. The rolling bass frequencies are next level while the track rises and falls so smoothly. Krystian Shek has quite the talent. An EP that is sure to make anyone an immediate fan of his work. We hope to see Krystian back real soon on the label. We can't get enough of this!

Greyscale is proud to introduce the latest artist to be featured on its' long running and highly respected Mood Series.
Hailing from Spain, Senoidal is here with a debut EP titled 'Migrations'. When asked about the concept behind the EP, he said 'The EP is the hypothetical migration of the human race to a habitable exoplanet. A long and monotonous journey through space in which the landscape won't change much...'. With that said, you immediately start bobbing your head to the beat when you hit play to 'Trappist-1d'. An extremely addictive tech groove that feels at home with the lower BPM like it is presented. Just a touch of house mood makes this blur the lines nicely between techno and house. The creative percussion sends this track over the top. Fantastic! 'Teegarden b' rides a deeper groove relishing a bit of an ominous travel. This song is nicely influenced by island dub sounds as it opens just passed mid-way. A perfect transition track from day to night. 'Kepler-442b' finishes things with a flighty and atmospheric trek into the unknown. Senoidal also added 'I am trying to reproduce that feeling of you are about to sleep in a very long journey, where the notion of time is lost.' And we definitely get that feeling throughout this EP. #82 in the Mood Series is another success! Senoidal takes us deep into outer space with these 'Migrations'.

Mood Series #84 takes us deep down under with 4 tracks of blazing dub techno escapes for the adventurous. Astralure is an Australian based producer who is new to our label. 'Echo Lock' is primed for dancefloor domination. 'Not Distracted' opens up the EP with a short but sweet trek into rhythmic dub techno. Slightly Detroit inspired but clearly not the normal sound you would hear. Especially from Australia. This is next left representation. 'Shake the Shadow' is a slow hooker that draws in deep to the subterranean groove that sounds one-part mechanical and one-part subharmonic funk. This is unique to say the least! The title track has the most classically trained dub components and overall feel to it. Sonically, it feels sub planted deep in an aquatic realm among itself. Everything reverberates with a slow wobble and shimmer to a very cool effect. We are swimming with a smile on this one! 'Sync-out' is the most chord structured to be affected under this heavy dose of echo and reverb treatment. The beat is consistent and pumping while things make you feel out of sorts or 'out of sync' beneath. Another creative track that completes this standout new EP and artist to the series. We welcome and thank Astralure for bringing a different flavor to our discography. This is something to be heard!
