Sculpted from decades of music & sound, DJ Hellscaperr focuses on California Bay Area Rap and international Hardcore/Gabber realized through the eyes and ears of a cartoon (the animation film "Cool World" was listed as one of Hellscaperr's inspirations for this release). Loaded with boinks, bonks, slips, and smacks, 'DON'T ASK ME SHIT' is a thumb in the eye of 'genre', setting fire to any notion of good taste and status quo. Is it slow? Is it fast? Is it annoying? YES TO ALL!

If there are any rules to DJing, we're confident DJ Hellscaperr broke most of them on this mix, and purely for the giggles!

"This album/mix is intended to be a benefit for the active, at-risk Vallejo, CA solidarity organization 'Vallejo For Racial Justice' [https://twitter.com/vallejojustice] [cash.me/$VFRJ] and 50% of profits will be donated to this organization.

VFRJ is a collective of poor & working class people from marginalized communities impacted by police violence in Vallejo who seek to support their neighbors, their families, and their surroundings. Through the years of financial instability since 2008, the Bay has seen large population exoduses, and those unable to stay afloat have been left to fend for themselves in an area no longer hospitable to working class comrades. I've seen what economic instability can do to a community. It's a destructive echo that kills the creative spirit. Simply put, there's far too little State/County/City resources to go around for an area impacted so negatively for such a long duration. This mix isn't much, but because of my love and respect for the Rap Legacy of the Bay, I decided to make something that would benefit someone else. Think about donating to their cause, they can use all the help they can get!"

Plasmodia presents Tesi Tura V.A., its first record release. This compilation gathers 6 tracks that blend the sonic purpose and narrative intention of the vocal interpretation framed in the Colombian electronic music movement. 

Tesi Tura V.A. incorporates voices of the artists and moves through the reverberated melodies of darkwave, the sharp rhythms of juke, the vigour of drum n bass, the hypnotic sounds of techno and the courage of neorave.

This release proclaims the voice as an enriching element for its capacity to be moulded, altered, reinterpreted and deconstructed through different styles and methods of musical production.

Plasmodia is an electronic music label that establishes intersections between artists, musical styles and communities from Latin America.

This label, founded by Didacta and Ritornelo, is inspired by the organic cytoplasmic structures that slime mould forms when it connects multiple cell nuclei to unfold in the environment. Under that premise, the label proposes the use of these bonds to strengthen the electronic movement of the region as a symbiosis of sorts. 

Thus, Plasmodia does not seek to pigeonhole itself in a specific musical genre. Instead, it seeks to highlight the diversity of the electronic spectrum that inhabits Latin American latitudes.

Based on the free interpretation of the ‘breakbeat’ genre, the breadcrumb trail of this second compilation is the theme “from happy to dark” (or the other way) to celebrate the fluctuation of emotions whether positive or negative. Over-cultivated positivism implies the rejection and the covering up of negative emotions… This compilation is here to reminds you to live fully your emotions and only think about what’s best for you. It’s OK not to always look on the bright side of things. Be gentle to yourself.

"Amor Satyr makes his debut on Promesses with 'Na Viela / Virar DJ', a double single featuring Brazilian rappers MC Buzzz (Spain-based) and T9 RJ (France-based). For this release the French producer brings what he does the best : hybrid baile funk. 'Na Viela' is a cartoonish club banger where Buzzz’ broken voice and T9’ deep breathy hooks melt with Amor Satyr’ epic strings and bassline. Followed by grimy glacial bullet 'Virar DJ' where T9’ voices from beyond the grave match with sharp snare and hypnotic synth. The release contains instrumental versions of each song."
