The third release from Moscow-based trailblazers 'UNITED', comes from Perm born Ninety, who despite being situated in the very heart of Russia, has managed to find a unique hybrid of sounds reflecting both Russian and British influences. Establishing a somewhat eerie presence in the EP's opening track 'Ambi,' one only catches a glimpse of the arsenal at Ninety's disposal. Chimes ring out and a distinctive sub-heavy bassline growing bolder in its sound design and oscillations sets the tone for the rest of the tracks. In 'Silk,' and 'Grace,' Ambi further demonstrates the range of instruments and samples he is able to make use of- the distinctive guitars of 'Silk,' sit on a bed of appositely selected drum sounds which makes for one of the most unique tracks of the project thus far. The EP culminates with 'Negative,' a Dubstep track of gargantuan proportions sporting a distorted flute which is set to echo across Europe and beyond across the coming years and decades.

LOCUSM001 marks the start of a new digital series for the label, categorised as 'M' for Multi-genre. We feel this new series provides the perfect outlet for the label to explore outside of it's usual dubstep flavour.

First up on the series is Lewis Woolacott, better know as, Roy Bar. The Bristol based producer and DJ, and close friend of the label, kicks of the 'M' series with a 6 track release entitled 'Icarus'. Built around the title track, the EP showcases the extensive range of Roy Bar’s DJ sets, featuring the sounds of Hip hop / Breakbeat / Garage / Dubstep / Drum & Bass and more.

2020 has been an extremely difficult year for everyone and a quieter than normal year for our platform. Despite this we have been incredibly grateful to have produced one live event in Montréal, 3 online events and 3 audio / visual features. Thank you EVERYONE once again for supporting us during these tough times and for supporting everything that we do. Whether it's tuning into our monthly Sub FM radio show, hopping on our live events, listening / watching & reading our features or just simply sending us messages......we appreciate you! We would not be able to be where we are today or continue without the support of our community. To those of you that keep asking, we have definitely started the path towards our online merch store but aren't quite there yet... thank you for encouraging us!

Despite 2020 shutting a lot of the industry down, not many artists have continued to work as hard as Parts Project. When the wheels started turning for us to collaborate, we didn't even think twice. Parts Project is no newcomer to the game but his most recent moniker might not be as familiar to you. Formerly known as Turtilian, Parts Project is the latest expression from the Winnipeg-born Allan Hanley. Parts Project breathes new life into the former dubstep dj name and radio host from the prairies. If you were a fan of Turtilian, you will be intrigued by his new live act.

Parts is a "live hardware project with influences of bass music". He expresses his creativity through a diverse rig of synthesizers & machines, while looping and twisting familiar sounds that make the earth shake. Not bound by a single genre, Parts is willing to put in the hours of work both in his bedroom and in his local parks. His YouTube and Facebook pages feature semi-frequent live streams and his Bandcamp catalog is full of music that is unique, however still partially influenced by soundsystem culture, techno and beyond. 

Parts is usually not bound by a single formula, however his contribution to the Conscious Wave platform may be slightly different. The sound of the single "Earth" is influenced heavily by his bass music past. Listeners and fans can be joyed to hear those hints of sub-frequencies in both "Earth" and in everything that he does.

We got the opportunity to really pick his brain and learn that he is "proud of some of (his) earlier work but (he) loves everything that (he) does as Parts Project, even the awkward weird stuff because (he) feels like there's more of (him) preserved in it".

Cue up your sound system! The second chapter of Sentry's compilation series is reaching the long-awaited light of day and furthers the notoriety of its lauded artist congregation in the typical high-grade style. Moving into the last quarter of 2020 and from strength to strength with each release, the imprint welcomes plenty of fresh faces to the revered artist roster, such as Arkham Sound, Karnage and Muttley among others. Bridling amid the commotion, returning champions like Cimm, LSN and Substance, as well as the label boss Youngsta himself untether their respective supreme vibrations. To be released as a digital long-player alongside a four-track vinyl sampler - 'Part 2' forms a comprehensive listening journey, truly taking bass music enthusiasts for an extensive and stylistically varied ride. Smoothly fusing meditative soundscapes with its apocalyptic counterparts, the result forms a select composite of some of the scene's brightest talents encapsulated within the heavyweight LP.

Featuring a meticulously curated assortment of bass music flavours, it kicks off with Dub Techno inclinations, ephemeral chords and mesmeric soundscapes in Cimm's 'Glider' - laying it down on a foundation bassline. 'Shottah Kush' by the LSN collective conjures an as electric as industrial mammoth, running things with head-nodding swing and scattered outbursts of otherworldly distortion.
Wandering through the hypnotic temple sounds of 'The Fallen' by Saraphim, 'Tupi' by Japan's CITY1 returns to a full-frontal flute assault, loaded with murderous low-frequency excursions, primed for the dance. More infernal overtones and glitches await in Kali & Senncoria's 'Dragon Shape' - taking listeners on an epic sound design journey.
Sirens from afar, silky strings and high-grade 808's fire through 'Magie' by Muttley, followed up by off-kilter Dubstep at its finest - 'Nug' by Substance & Youngsta, teeming of sonic intricacies. With militant and gripping percussion, Arkham Sound's 'So Jaded' guides through its forceful but evanescent atmosphere.

Taking on the torch, Karnage immolates musing melodies on larger-than-life drums in 'Magitek' - closely tailed by the highly inflammatory contents of Confusious' 'Octane' - radiating shut-down vibes. Wrapped up by spheric harmonies and top-notch 2-Step tendencies in Rednote's 'Albion' - the LP concludes its beautiful journey with a captivating, ruminative meditation of 'Genesis' by Boston's Saltus. Sourced from some of the world's finest artists, both established and new - the mighty Sentry Records syndicate strikes again.
