After a winter of hibernating and incubating I'm starting to look outwards and figured it was a good time to share some of the tunes I've been enjoying over the last lil bit. These are the ones that got me and my baby boppin' .. I hope you feel them too ♡

This was the first ever Kootenay Yoga Festival.
Although the event was online this time, the weekend went off with out a snag! So many phenomenal speakers and teachers.
I was grateful to be a part of this creative event by offering a mix especially created for this moment while Joe Nillo, on the gram @josephdavidnillo painted a live digital art piece.

I was originally planning on recording a 2 hour mix but I was having so much fun I decided to go for 3. Ciao Winter : Hello Spring is dedicated to the longer days, warmer weather, birds chirping, running water, and new life. As I shift from a challenging winter of covid to the new beginnings of spring, I look forward to gatherings, collaboration, creating, building, getting close, breathing, and dancing. Lots and lots of dancing. As I look back at winter, I give thanks for the growth that comes with challenge and the introspection that comes with deeper connections. Cactus Breath

Never Stop Dancing is a mix series focused on amplifying house, disco, and techno. Through the mix series I aim to highlight the creative  expressions of the talented up and coming as well as established DJs and producers in the Kootenays and the surrounding areas of BC. The mix series is dedicated to the four to the floor lovers who may often find themselves the first or last two-steppin' on the dance floor. To those who find that movement is an essential expression of life, love, and joy. To those who find that connecting with others through movement is a process of liberation and a building block of our community. To those who get moved by the music, a language that we speak that emanates from the depths in our hearts and souls. Thank you, beautiful dancers, for your love of the groove, authentic self-expression, and freedom of mind and body. Never Stop Dancing 4 features @sunnacres.

Sunny Acres is musician, producer and Dj, Chris Francis. From an eclectic mix of wonderfully crafted original rhythms, basslines and melodies to great tracks from around the world, Sunny Acres weaves a sonic fabric of acoustic and electronic music. He is a local Kootenay producer and DJ, all-around stand-up guy, most humble DJ, and my brother from another mother. I don't remember when I first met Chris, but I know his distinctive style of deep and chugging house is what drew me to him. Since knowing him, I've had the pleasure of having him play at my events and we've danced many nights away. Keep your eyes on his Soundcloud as he'll be releasing his first LP this spring. This mix is a colourful tapestry of tasteful selections thoughtfully weaved together. I appreciate the deep basslines and heartfelt vocals that pull me into the story he tells. I love his mixing style that blends layers of each song so seamlessly that one cannot tell where one begins and where the next one starts. I hope you enjoy this mix and it gets you swaying, tapping your toes, 2-stepping, bopping, bouncing, and feeling all the feels.

My 12th year performing at Priceless was the most fun I've had yet. Thank you to all of the planners, volunteers, and attendees that make Priceless happen. Deep gratitude to the musicians who made the music in this set, especially previous Priceless guests El Búho (@el-buho), David Last (@davidlast), and Rumpistol (@rumpistol). 

Special shout out to my forever inspirations for Forest vibes - Ganucheau (@ganucheau) and Dr. Toast (@drtoast). It still feels like everything I do with music is trying to do for others what they have done for me.

Afternoon Delights

Recorded live Nov 6, 2020, celebrating the release of Ganucheau’s album “Variations on a Playground." The influence this music has had on me is hard to overstate. I consider Ganucheau's sound and this album in particular to be the core of my experience at Priceless, one that I deeply enjoy sharing with others at the event. And now, we can all share it at home thanks to its release.

The evening was intended to be full of soothing music, as in the US we were in the 4th night of not having election results - it had been quite a week and we all needed something other than the news and doomscrolling for a few hours. My set attempts to channel the mix of emotions I've been feeling over the last months, give a little rise and fall, and end on a soft note. Like we do in the forest.
