New episode, mostly with acoustic and historical flavour. Used strings (cello, violin, viola), jaw harp, mandoline and some king of banjo. Also used a cello for the percussions, for the kick and sticks for the “rimshot”...

Here's a short reminder for the concept of this serie:

Compose, in the idea of opening credits of series (or films), different themes, with different ambiences according to the genre of the series approached, with the constraint of the duration (short), the intro, the theme, the structure ( cressendo, linear, rise & fall, etc), the end, and sometimes a transition with the beginning of the episode, and some musical moods to use within.
No longer than one day of work for each theme.
Keep in mind that those tracks are meant to be heard many times as they are created as openings of series, and they are composed to stay in mind after a few plays. So, don’t hesitate to come back and give it a listen to catch it.

Cinematic Serie S01E08. 

After a few week of rest, here's a new one.

I didn’t tried to be original on this one, just wanted to go back to my roots, the early 80s, when I started making music with my analog synths and gear. This is exactly what they did for the well known Netflix scifi/fantastic serie that takes place in the 80s. ;)

Used back a lot of my analog gear:
Roland Juno 106 Apreggios, Rolang Jupiter 6 bass swell, Roland MC202 sequences and Fxs, Transcendent 2000 and Korg MS10 basses, Roland CR78 drums, Moog MG1 SFXs, Fairlight choirs,  …

Was fun! :D

It starts with the opening credits theme for a minutes, and just after that there’s an additional music to use inside the serie to show the musical style and ambiance of the serie.

Le pourquoi du comment (par So4) :

Tout chercheur n'ayant pas un jour questionné sa quête d'absolu ou son absence évite la confrontation à sa propre pathologie. Le scientifique cherche de nouvelles équations pour expliquer le monde, le graphiste de nouveaux codes visuels pour l'exprimer, le musicien de nouvelles structures sonores pour décrire ses émotions. Tous les chercheurs d'hors norme s'engagent sur les sentiers du comment avant de s'apercevoir de leurs lacunes face au pourquoi. Le vouloir vivre de l'espèce, sa volonté de puissance, feint d'ignorer que son succès réside avant tout dans les causes amenant l'esprit à exprimer ses acuités. La création est thérapie. Elle cherche à compenser intuitivement les carences de l'intellect à formuler son pourquoi. C'est à ce titre que la perdition s'avère parfois salutaire. Perdre son esprit dans les nuages agrège toujours la perception d'une image issue du subconscient. Cette apparente dysfonction cérébrale nommée paréidolie est une chance pour quiconque cherche à identifier l'origine de ses propres attentes.

Chaque composition musicale témoigne de la tentative d'un esprit à réconcilier ses pulsions subconscientes avec son libre arbitre. Choisir un son, une note ou une structure rythmique plutôt qu'une autre, c'est transformer des influences diffuses vers des âmes qui sauront les reconnaître. Auditeur avide, sauras-tu en cet album percevoir la douceur issue de la douleur d'un compositeur ayant sillonné ses propres démons des confins de son côté obscur vers la lumière apaisante qui le contredit enfin ? Cerneras-tu la part de chaos affrontant son propre nihilisme afin de le muter en douce nostalgie, cette tristesse joyeuse embrassant toute rédemption ? Acquiesceras-tu au vouloir qui a su évoluer en consentement de ce qui est, à cette forêt que dissimule l'arbre de l'ego ?

Toute inadéquation, toute souffrance prend racine en l'ego. Dès lors qu'un souvenir traumatique se libère de sa charge émotionnelle, il se change en sagesse. Ce que nous avons vécu de pire devient alors le meilleur matériau enclin à nous reconstruire. Quand le souvenir du visage d'un être cher tend à s'estomper, c'est encore un appel de l'âme à éviter de le réduire à une image. Ce paradoxe anime aussi toute création cathartique. La transfiguration soigne les blessures en autant de tatouages constitutifs d'une personnalité.

En un monde où l'art ne servirait plus que le divertissement, cette réflexion serait jugulée par les moins contrits, contraignant les autres à l'allégresse persistante du produire encore. Comment dites-vous ? Ce monde est déjà en place ?! Neptunian8 n'est pas vraiment sûr de cette information...et c'est tant mieux pour vos pavillons.
