“Grimm Grimm is a tonic for the curious heart” Cate Le Bon

There’s more than a hint of the famous Grimm brothers’ twisted fairy-tale folklore to Ginormous – the third album from London-based, Tokyo-born experimentalist (and former frontman of cult psychedelic-punk group Screaming Tea Party) Koichi Yamanoha -  recalls a childhood with Humpty Dumpty and Mother Goose by his side, with his latest offering marking the next chapter in a trilogy of self-discovery; a compendium of sonically astute storytelling where nightmares and dreams meet via French yé-yé and Casio beats.

My first big musical impact I had in UK was Joe Meek, Paul Jones of Stolen Recordings taught me. He once played me the demo version of Meek singing Telstar, it was so out of tune, yet it was perfect, drunken space traveling vibes. Since then I always wanted to write a pop song about the moment of packing up my stuff and getting in to a spaceship, it's strange, but I often feel like I have already experienced this situation for some reason. Grimm Grimm has finally written that songs with 'We've Never Been This Far Before'.

Dreamy, yet harsh, 'Ginormous' contains extremely intimate, emotional, cosmic and occult  elements with semi conscious power pop catchiness.  Koichi explains: “I always wanted write an album that sounds like a funeral and wedding at the same time."
