Though word and sound, Flora Yin Wong's work has explores intimate, existential and spiritual subjects. Her experimental sound work pairs the organic with the synthetic, marrying early traditional instruments with field recordings and the use of electronic processing techniques.

These sonic collages, which have found a home on the likes of PAN, Modern Love and Danse Noire, can take the form of abstract sound pieces or rhythmic excursions, and have examined all manner of themes from death and rebirth to fire rituals, mythology and memory.

With her new project Doyenne, she's found a way of pairing her love of writing and composing. Both a label and independent book publisher, through the platform she'll examine new forms, ephemera and the divine feminine, beginning with a split tape release from herself and French-Egyptian artist Susu Laroche. 

Alongside the tape, Flora will release a book titled 002 that documents the tradition of 'Singing to Spirits', which features poems and illustrations from her and Susu, as well as several contributions from their friends including Sarah Shin, YL Hooi, Lucinda Chua and Cucina Povera.

Tactfully, he showcases his ability to parcel distinct moments of clarity and sonic obfuscation. His abstractions are intentional, his ambience exacting, and his chaos undeterred..."

Patrick Gallagher is a sound artist currently based in Philadelphia, PA (US). With a formal education in mathematics, Gallagher employs generative/algorithmic processes, guided improvisation, and intuitive sound collage in an effort to weave evocative and evolving sonic narratives. Exploring the various developments of 20th century composition and contemporary computer music, he seeks to fuse that technicality with the cathartic and rapturous nature of the DIY noise underground.

Previous works employed a wide range of sound sources - synthesizers, field recordings, tabletop guitar, etc. - however, Gallagher currently focuses almost entirely on digital synthesis, particularly additive and granular techniques.

Gallagher has released albums on cassette and vinyl through ENXPL (enmossed x Psychic Liberation), Hot Releases, Refulgent Sepulchre, Tone Log, and other independent labels.

As we find ourselves on the cusp of changing seasons, we’re reminded that everything is cyclical, the inescapable fact of endings is what makes life thrilling in the first place; the construction of one thing is so often preceded by the destruction of another. Perfect timing for this fiery Full Moon in Aries, the youngest sign in the zodiac, and who better to provide the sonic narration to this month’s lunation than Baptist Goth. Their gorgeous incantation casts an intricate web of light and dark, a gorgeous tapestry of found sounds and choral, droney, noisy, emo bliss. Long moments of contemplative calm, interspersed with erratic moments of chaos echo the sentiment that we can always burn it up and start again. Everything is impermanent, so savour this enchanted moment.
