In the tiny village of Lagoinha, tucked away amidst prickly cacti and the occasional howl of a wild dog, lies Le Garage - not just any old music studio, but a place where melodies are born, guests find solace, and a tiny farm flourishes. And at the heart of this dusty abode resides a most extraordinary creature: Liza Mara, the chicken with a spirit as free as the wind.

This fowl, she's no ordinary clucker. Despite the fences that try to confine her, she flits and flutters wherever her wings take her. Lost she may seem for days on end, but mark my words, she always returns, ready to regale her coop companions with tales of the great beyond - a world teeming with peril and possibility.

Now, onto the enchanting melody that dances through the airwaves, a tune known as A Galinha Escapou - the B-side to Lagoinha (Minha Nave). Crafted by the whimsical trio known as COLLIGNON, whose roots stretch from Portugal to the Netherlands, this song is a lively ode to Jori's chicken, the one they call "the enlightened one." Picture it: a blend of electronic beats and acoustic strums, a musical tapestry woven from the threads of diverse influences discovered through journeys far and wide.

In 2024, Freddy will commemorate 20 years of career with a very special release: “Infinite Roots”, an original and fresh re-recording of his greatest hits and live successes, produced by the amazing reggae producer and Fred’s long time drummer and collaborator, Mighty Drop in collaboration with Dutch producer Jori Collignon (Collignon/ Skip&Die) . To celebrate this milestone Freddy will hit the road once again, spreading his positive vibrations all over Europe.

“FAZUMA (Infinite Roots)”

The song "Fazuma"  is the celebration of Reggae Culture and its positive impact on the world by promoting love and respect among people. It was first released in 2007 and became an instant hit in Portugal. Recently, a new version of the song was recorded live in the studio with fresh arrangements that include captivating horns and the outstanding backing vocals of Loki and Anastácia Carvalho. 
The song was produced by Freddy's drummer, Mighty Drop, and received some final touches by Jori Collignon. It was mixed and mastered by Beat Laden. Freddy Locks and the Gris Gris Records assembled a remarkable team to make this new version of "Fazuma" a global hit, spreading love and positivity worldwide.

Blending West African rhythms and psychedelic guitars, 'Lagoinha (Minha Nave) featuring Mira Kendô' is an uplifting and compelling track made for tropical dancefloors.

COLLIGNON, a three-piece band based in Portugal and the Netherlands, embodies a fusion of diverse musical influences cultivated through travel and music research. Their dynamic style seamlessly intertwines various genres, effortlessly transitioning between electronic and acoustic realms.

In their latest single, 'Lagoinha (Minha Nave),' COLLIGNON collaborates with Mira Kendô, a group with members originating from Guiné Bissau in West Africa. Mira Kendô contributes vibrant rhythms, captivating guitar melodies, and the Kora, a traditional instrument adorned with 21 strings.

The title 'Lagoinha' pays homage to the Portuguese village where COLLIGNON's studio is located, carrying the message – 'Lagoinha is my neighborhood, Lagoinha is my spaceship.'

The iconic song "Bring up the Feeling" made its debut in 2006, marking the start of Freddy Locks' successful solo career. The single gained prominence by unexpectedly being included in the playlist of the renowned Radio Antena 3, where it topped the national charts and became a constant presence on the playlist of MTV Portugal.
Supported by the talented band Groove Missions, Freddy Locks quickly emerged as one of the most promising artists, being selected among 13 artists to perform at the 13th anniversary of Antena 3 (2007). His subsequent tour, which lasted until the end of 2008, included memorable performances at the Festival Med and Festival Mestiço at Casa da Música, sharing the stage with renowned names in global music such as Amadou & Mariam, Danny Silva, Timbila Muzimba, Azagaia, Maytals, Lee Scratch Perry, Gladiators, Fat Freddys Drop, Alborosie, among others.
The new version of "Bring up The Feeling" (Infinite Roots) brings back the joy of listening to a classic, surprising with the freshness of the new instrumental arrangements and the vocal support of Loki (NL) and Anastácia Carvalho (PT/STP). "Bring up The Feeling" (Infinite Roots) reaffirms Frederico Oliveira's (Freddy Locks) love and respect for traditional and contemporary African-rooted music, and the commitment to the authenticity of the words it carries, to the rhythm of Freddy Locks' original compositions.
The production of the music was led by Freddy's renowned drummer, Mighty Drop, and finalized by the producer Jori Collignon (COLLIGNON/Skip & Die). The mixing and mastering were carried out by Beat Laden, a special team that adds to Freddy Locks' artistic consistency.
