In the green & gold corner, hailing from Brisbane, Australia… Ad’N’Kuts. And in the red, white & blue corner, hailing from San Francisco, America… Kidd Linus. Together they’ve crafted a break beat monster that tip’s it’s cap to the old skool yet destroys bass bins with rump shaking precision.

A rather fine array of remixes come courtesy of some fine talent that spread their mixes across different genres, each definitely putting their own slant on things. First up Pecoe & Aditup lower the tempo & increase the bounce to take things into Ghetto Funk territory. Butterz switches the beats totally with his mix heading in a more 4/4, dare we say electro house direction. No mater what genre it’s classed as it works dance floors into a frenzy! Awhile back, A Skillz made this awesome remix of Ann Robinson's "You Did It" funk tune - it's been used by countless breaks DJs, most notably in Fat Boy Slim's "Gangsta Trippin". As a production challenge, I tried to make my own version by hunting down the original samples. I made a few left turns and came out with something that starts off like Adam's tune and then turns into something completely different. But when that infectious horn sample finally drops half way through this beast, every audience I've ever played it for screams in glorious delight - so I reckon it's a winner. I hope your audiences have as much fun as mine when this rolls out over the speakers. And thanks Mr A Skillz for your awesome inspiration, and to Adam3 for the amazing cover artwork.

Grits n Gravy is the brainchild one of Perth's favourites, Philly Blunt and UK breaks guru D-Funk. 

Together these 2 cats have released music on the likes of Goodgroove Records, Manmade Records, Roca Records, Booty Pirates, Westway Records, Destination? Records, Warriorz, Sunday Best Records & of course D-Funk's own label, Upstart Music. They put their (limited) brain power together & came up with a master plan to help spread the love of the more funk end of the music they & their chums/chumps make & love.... and so Grits n Gravy was born.
