As she gears up to join self-proclaimed “prophet of pleasure” Partiboi69 in Room 1 on Friday 16th September, Juicy Romance has prepared us a podcast ahead of time. 007 of the fabric podcast features tracks from Steel City Dance Discs, Pangaea, a forthcoming release from herself, and an unreleased track from Partiboi69. It's a surefire scope of juicy, sweaty goodness from club music’s most daringly romantic curator, adding a tasty new addition to our ongoing series. 

Originally from Melbourne, but now firmly rooted in London’s electronic scene, Juicy Romance is infecting the underground and the mainstream alike with spicy club weapons and contagious bangers. Her sets exude hedonism and hard club sounds, and can scope anything from techno, to electro, trance and other sub-genres above 140bpm – basically, they’re a whole lot of fun and hit really hard. Meanwhile on the production string of her bow, JR is set to release forthcoming debut EP entitled ‘Amorous’ - a perfect synonym of ‘romance’ - on Mutual Pleasure Recordings; four tracks dedicated to owning and exerting one's desires and a perfect reflection of her energetic sets, featuring steamy lyrics, catchy hooks and a pounding bass.

There is an effectiveness and simplicity to Mall Grab’s house music
that very quickly made him a star. The artist from an Australian town
makes tracks as dusty as homeland, but imbued with feel good melodies,
irresistible drums and smart samples that elevated them above pure
tools. This raw, instinctive, unfussy sound has found him on labels
like Looking For Trouble as well as the Steel City Discs label he runs
with Jarred Kennedy and Jackson Fitzsimmons. Back in February he
stepped out with an EP under his own name in a mission of
“self-discovery” and it’s a journey the world continues to be closely
tuned in to.

His mix is a high octane selection of brilliantly physical sounds.
From supersized house to throwback breakbeats, he slams it all
together with a fist pumping efficiency that means two hours race by
in a flash.  It’s a fun mix, too, with old school rave flavours, saw
tooth stabs and bumping kicks all brimming with the sort of life that
makes Mall Grab such an appealing and accessible talent.

Next into the series, is X-Coast who regards his - now, well established alias - more as a state of mind than an outlet for his artistry. This might go someway to explain his consistent yet unique output, that has helped him become more of a household name, than a temporary one. Despite having a brief hiatus' between his records, you'll be most aware of the Serbian-born's, 'Mango Bay', which was released all of four years ago. Since, he has been consistently serving up stellar offerings, built for your dance-floor satisfaction.

This mix, however, is more of an expression of his experimental side, exposing a more contemplative shade to his repertoire than you will have grown a-custom to. He describes this mix himself as being the latest chapter of the x-coast ambient resort simulator series, consisting of synth demos and edits of drum & bass tracks, all tied up and layered with sounds of both the Roland JD990 and fifth element movie samples. One to savour, this.
