I made this short mix for my class "spectacle, presence and poetry" with the school of poetic computation. it is a mix of a disorienting 19hz frequency, tracks from African American Sound Recording's album "Erasure Poetry," and clips from videos featuring artists like Essex Hemphill, Juliana Huxtable, Audre Lorde, Octavia Butler, Fiona Apple, and from a haunting Twilight Zone episode that has never left my mind since I was a child.

The main idea was to replicate my difficulty with approaching writing as an art again. To create an "anti-meditation" that reflects my own anxious and imposter syndrome-infected state of mind while writing. Particularly since my experience with Long Covid has worsened both my hearing, motor functions, and ability to find the right words when writing. 

During quarantine, I was often listening to sleep affirmations and meditations to calm myself while going through the first phase of the pandemic essentially alone. I wanted to create my own version of that, that instead of quelling those anxieties, manifested them.
