London’s Matt Ryder, AKA Odee X, kickstarts REK’D’s 2025 with the ‘X-Ray’ EP this January, following the release of his ‘So Hot It Hurts’ EP on Rekids aﬃliate Don Rimini’s Bunkaball.

The ‘X-Ray’ EP’s title track sees Odee X place a powerful piano melody at the centre among bleepy synths and clever drum arrangements, a short but eﬀective vocal appearing before its frenzied drop, omitted in the instrumental version. The infectious ‘Culture Dub’ then comes in with a carefully built groove of organic percussion, playful sampling, and plenty of echo to round out this classy peak-time House EP rife with dub influences.

Formerly known as B.U.U.G, Odee X has released on labels like Street Tracks and Nightmayors, with his contemporary takes on House and T echno winning the support of artists like Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, and Marco Faraone while receiving plays on BBC Introducing.

Matt Edwards launched REK’D in October 2024 to release no-nonsense House music without the limitations of parent label Rekids. So far, they’ve released dancefloor-ready EPs from Italian Theory Of Swing boss St. David and Nervous Records alum James Juke, with Odee X now landing on the label ahead of what will surely be a jam-packed year of quality releases for the REK’D imprint.

An absolutely wonderful release by my dear friends Camelphat on one of my indie labels Ambient Wave Records.  This is timeless disco house music and truly is a testament to how good they are as composers and producers.  They have an excellent club sensibility but still retain that soulfulness that gives house music its heritage/value.  This is straight up hands in the air peaktime madness - think Coachella / Pacha Ibiza / Glastonbury style vibes.

Fresh from self releasing his lo-fi mixtape "CHAMPAGNE", ZEBRA KATZ serves you his debut release, Ima Read feat. Njena Reddd Foxxx on Mad Decent's Jeffree's Imprint. Pulling from a multimedia /performance art background, Zebra Katz brings a slo-mo dark delivery to his rhymes set over a the minimal unencumbered  beat on "Ima Read".But what does "Ima Read" even mean? Simply put, "reading" is an old voguing term describing someone verbally insulting an opponent about something not so apparent to the average viewer. A good reader could tear you apart with one simply sentence.  We were very luck to have such a varied selection remixes from the likes of  J-Wow of Buraka Som Sistema, MikeQ and B.Ames, Slick Shoota and Dj Sliink. A little bit of something for everyone on this one, look out for more from Zebra Katz, he's on the rise.
