Bristol-based imprint Sex Tapes From Mars third release comes via JATA, presenting a reissue of his highly sought after, 1991 dance relic. Presented are three gritty, pulsing exercises in delayed gratification that have all the more impact when they finally hit top gear. 

The A1, ‘Stutter I’ manages deep introspection while still holding on to the part of the night that makes your head rush and your heart flutter. It comprises four sublimely sewn, yet prominently different movements, climaxing in beating, bumpy bliss. 

On the flip, the sense of strangely balanced synthesis makes ‘Midstate’ a remarkable sonic quandary. Its uptempo synth melody is joined with spacey stabs, and deep, unnerving swells. 

"Stutter II," meanwhile, centers on trippy, bright-eyed acid, lifted by a surprisingly tight flex of pummelling kicks, jagged hi-hats and pure, swelling pads. It’s a psychedelic symphony of earnest rhythms and bass, perfect for early-morning smoke and shadows. 

Each track on STFM03 has its own subtle but effective drama, sharing a masterclass in esoterically crafted noises.

Introducing Local DJ, a Paris-based electronic music producer and DJ known for his environmentally conscious approach to music and life. With a passion for blending the fun of DJ culture with political statements, his choice of the name "Local DJ" reflects both his commitment to promoting sustainability and his desire to work within his local community. Avoiding air travel and focusing on collaborations close to home, Local DJ has carved out a distinct niche in the burgeoning Parisian minimal scene.

A prolific producer, he runs his own label, re:earth, which has become a platform for showcasing his own work as well as that of emerging artists like Fjeldheim. His sound is characterized by a signature funkiness and a love for using vocoder effects, elements that stand out in his latest EP, "Cosmic Scene," released on the Parisian label ANTAM. He has also previously collaborated with Phil Evan's Freizeit Records, further establishing his presence in the European underground music scene.

In this interview, Local DJ shares insights into his creative process, his passion for music production, and the challenges of balancing an artistic vision with a strong ecological message. Join us as we delve into the mind of one of Paris’ most exciting underground talents, whose work is a testament to the intersection of art, activism, and music.

Get2kno went live & direct for the very first time on Saturday and omg it was so fun 📡🎙️! We went straight in with club vibes for this one - head down in the club at 2am was the vision - with some proggy gorgeousness, house, breaks, jersey club vibes and a couple R n B edits to end with some nostalgia. Shoutout to the amazing chatroom crew and big thanks to my dear friend and top selector Josh CK for joining me on the show for a b2b!
