More sunbathed melodies this week are coming from Madrid, Spain, and a well-respected DJ and producer from the disco and house scene and owner of Night Shift Records, Javi Frias.
 
His musical journey began when he started collecting funky records as a young soul boy in his hometown of Madrid. Now he travels the world, spreading love, and rocking parties, through his eclectic DJ sets full of sultry disco edits, boogie bombs, and soulful house sounds. 
As a producer, he has recently started making noise with a series of impressive edits and reworks, which have been published on a handful of EPs and singles with influential labels including Street Edits, Tropical Disco, Midnight Riot, and Boogie Café. 

His music has been supported by disco heavyweights such as Danny Krivit, Red Greg, Horse Meat Disco, Jacques Renault, and Joey Negro, whom he has also shared the decks with at his own famed Discotizer parties at Marula Cafe Madrid. Connecting all the disco dots, Javi also has his own label ‘Night Shift Records’ where he has predominantly released a series of his own club-ready re-edits, as well as working with Never Dull and Chassé. 

The disco flame continues to burn, and Javi has plenty in the pipeline for 2022 and beyond.

A live session recorded in the basement of The Music Factory in 1992.  It was taken from a tape that had been in the possession of Dave Beer.  It is the first time it has ever been released.

Hailing from the Beverly area on the South Side of Chicago, Jamie 3:26 has garnered recognition in his own right, and poised to unleash a barrage of hot music on the populous, Jamie 3:26 is fast becoming a music phenomenon.

Driven by the desire to allow people to loose themselves on the floor and forget their problems, Jamie keeps his irons in the fire. He always seeks out new and fresh sounds. It could be a song from 30 years ago or a new jam, as long as it has a great groove, he's interested in it. When he plays, his main goal is to connect with the crowd. He feeds off of their energy. He has the uncanny ability to read a floor and switch the groove without losing them. Directing them to places he wants them to go is what sets him apart from many other DJ's.

Barcelona 2001.The police had left us to it on the beach for Sant Joan (festival of fire). Soundsystems lined the shore, but we'd managed to smuggle down a function 1 and were having the best of it. My cousin Digs (DiY) dropped into play. The house groove rolled on. At dawn we moved inside to a warehouse nearby. And from the there it was back to Dave's place. Not sure who Dave was, but he had a nice roof terrace. So I dug around in the record box trying to find dubs, edits or B sides to suit the rising sun. A few weeks later, someone gave me a tape of it. Apparently Dave had got himself organised with the C60s. So here it is. A rambling soundtrack to a hazy morning.

On April 29th Andy released 'Times and Places'. Over the last 15 years he has been writing this album on the road on tour with GA. From Airport Lounges / Hotel Rooms / Planes / Trains and an array of tour buses. The last two years saw Andy edit all these ideas into one beautiful album. Released through the legendary Apollo Records and R&S Records, on digital and limited edition hardback CD book. There will also be a cheeky vinyl announcement on the way but more of that to come. This is Groove Armada history.
