Mesaʼs Polar Night is an EP that suspends the listener in sound with atmospheric textures and driving ancient rhythms. From the tranquil suspense of Frozen Forest, you are taken through a forbidding landscape past deep ancient lakes and pines, the keepers of spirits in the stillness. This is the place of Nøkken and Xen. The second portion of the EP kicks up the movement with Suspended in Time and Nocturnal Movements, bringing the hidden spirits to full motion. After the darkest of night, Into Twilight is the end of the journey with the arrival of dawns light, andaa representation of new hope.

Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, readies the hard-hitting ‘Pattern Repeat EP’ this August.

Following his acclaimed debut album ‘Tungsten’ on Kneaded Pains in 2021, as well as the recent ‘3D World EP’ with Stephen Brown in April 2022, London based DJ/producer Fossil Archive, aka Roberto, returns to his label with ‘Pattern Repeat EP’, featuring four original techno tracks conveying his artistic range.

Title track ‘Pattern Repeat’ sees the UK-based producer teaming up with Kiara Scuro’s ZaaZaa, who delivers ethereal vocals across pounding kicks and squelching acid licks. ‘Bridgetown’ follows with hypnotic percussion and dubbed out FX hits for a deep tripper. ‘Follow the River’ brings pumping synths and rocking kits for a spaced-out club track before ‘Chimera’ sees Fossil Archive delivering an emotive, heads-down track custom-built for eyes closed moments on the dancefloor to close out the release.

Founded by Roberto in 2015, the Fossil Archive label has released music by artists such as Voiski, DJ Rolando, Sterac aka Steve Rachmad, Roman Lindau, Robert Owens, and many more, including Roberto himself. As a DJ, Roberto has played at the likes of fabric, Tresor, Berghain and more.

Fossil Archive 013 - Fossil Archive - Pattern Repeat Ep

Radial Records is the self-titled techno imprint from Jeroen Liebregts aka Radial. Dutch born and now based in Barcelona, he is co-founder of the legendary Audio Assault records and his music can be found on the likes of Mord, Token and Marcel Dettmann Records.

Ian Lehman is co-founder of Enemy Records and Abiotic with Dustin Zahn, and he also lists records for Paul Birken's Tonewrecker, Hidden Agenda and Drumworks. He is welcomed for his first outing on Radial Records which marks a return to form after his last release in 2005 on Audio Assault.

In more recent years, Ian has also appeared as his Doubt alias, seeing releases on DVS1's Mistress Recordings and Semtek's Don't Be Afraid for example.

Expect to hear brooding analogue cuts with abstract atmospherics, gritty textures and quirky sound design...

Take a look over Ashley Burchett’s back catalogue and you’ll find the Greater London resident has played an understated yet influential role in purporting British techno. Fifteen years ago Burchett’s prevailing Ø [Phase] project debuted on Sheree Rashit and Steve Bicknell’s Cosmic Recordings before providing Cosmic ID with its final record in 2002, and since 2007 Burchett's helped mould and define the sound of Token by becoming the label’s marquee artist.

In 2013 the Belgian imprint finally coaxed the debut album from Ø [Phase], Frames Of Reference, described in Tony Naylor’s 4/5 review for Resident Advisor as, “a techno album of real imagination and depth that, when it needs to be, is brutally functional.” Almost two years since its release Ø [Phase] is back with Alone In Time?, his second studio album which adds to the continuous slew of unrivalled long players Token has put out of late. Token spreads the 11-tracks on Alone In Time? across three heavy weight discs, and the music further demonstrates Burchett’s deft skill in linear arrangements shaped to fit the warehouse frame, while painting a colourful, Detroit influenced side to his productions yet to really be heard to this extent before.

This uncharted sound of Ø [Phase] can be found in tracks like “Remote”, the album’s homage to electro, to the jittery, alien grooves of “Spacialize”, “Mo_del” and “Nep-tune”. There’s big room domination on productions like “Orbitron” and “R-Mash”, while the album’s title-track is a journey through Burchett’s conceptual references to cosmology, time and isolation. Burchett explains, "it was always an intention to make another album and now just felt like the right time. Life moves on, we change and grow. As lessons get learned and ideas form, the desire to express them gradually manifests."

Furthermore, Burchett adds, “Frames Of Reference was about overcoming personal struggles and challenges, while Alone In Time? is more forward facing.” With an extensive back catalogue in his wake, Ø [Phase] has become a relied source for the discerning techno DJ and these new, expertly crafted club cuts add to his ever-expanding pool of productions for selectors to choose from, and it’s clear, if the bouncing rhythm of “Blind Eye” and orchestral epic of “The Maze” is anything to go by, Ø [Phase] isn’t only head strong, but standing tall.
