I just wanted to let @ripperton know that I keep coming back to this mix for the serenity it provides me amidst the madness in this world.  Seriously: thank you, sir!

We don't know Roman Flügel in person, but we have come to believe through many mail exchanges that he must be a one hell of a gentleman. Friendly, generous, intelligent. Add the words 'classy' and 'elegant' to this and it might very well sum up of how his music sounds. Yes, to us, the many soundscapes of Roman Flügel are the embodiment of downright dancefloor finesse (and by extension this distinction would even apply to his Alter Ego productions, which, quite frankly, we aren't too terribly fond of.). Take for instance his 2006 album he did with the vibraphone virtuoso Christopher Dell. Sublime. As Gilles Peterson said at the time: "That's really just my kind of minimal.". Well, you could literally take any Roman Flügel production: we just listened to the fine Deep Mix he did for Ethyl & Huxley on the soon-to-be launched label Saints & Sonnets. Or you could listen - and we very much expect you to do so - to this fabulous, fabulous mix.

Back in 1993, I remember standing in Fatcat and John says to me you’ll like this one...  brand new on a French label.  He then proceeded to play Acid Eiffel in it’s entirety.  As a bonus, the Soofle Ep was out at the same time so bought both. What followed was a succession of absolutely essential deep house and acid releases.  At the helm was Laurent Garner, Ludovic Navarre and DJ Deep and Didier Delesalle releasing music on a huge Multimedia stores own dance division of their record label.  The label then changed into F Comm and still managed t release some more amazing music.  I thought I’d put this together as their appears to be some very welcome re-issues on their way.  

Unfortunately, I couldn’t locate some records I wanted to add and some were just too fast but you can get a feel for the kind of stuff i used to buy and the quality that the label was putting out.

Will do Tracklist at some point but mainly consisted of Choice, Shazz, Deepside, Laurent Garnier, Aurora Borealis, Alexkid, Deep Contest, Aqua Bassino, Nuages, Soofle, LN’s, Alaska and Dave Angel

All done in one hit.  There’s a few wobbles and wobbles due to lack of Sync button.  Hope it doesnt detract from the enjoyment of the music.

She runs Introspective Electronics, which is a monthly show on Netil Radio and a series of podcasts and chill-out gatherings at The Lion & Lamb in East London. 

Lucie’s second half of 2020 is packed with some exciting releases. First up, she has an electro-acoustic mini-album coming out with David Toop on Cafe OTO’s digital label Takuroku, followed by a collaborative experimental double LP with Christian Duka as Vãdin on Utter, and lastly, a tripped-out, progressive and trancey 12” shared with Miro SundayMusiq for E2-E8 Records.
