In the last two years, I've experienced many a night at home, alone, thinking about the world and my place and purpose within it. I've spent nights journeying deep inside and have experienced a kaleidoscope of emotion; sadness, joy, hope, despair, love, anger, delight, disgust and a myriad of others. I have gone into and experienced my own darkness and the darkness that surrounds me...and some of those nights have felt immensely sacred. In some of these journeys, it has felt like I have communed with some Spirits that left me in awe of their beauty.

A fresh face in NYC this past year, 2022 was quite a debut year for the west-coast transplant. Building on over a decade of left coast residencies [The Endup, Nocturnal Code, The Regency Ballroom, Strategik] Cavalier honed and communicated his signature techy house sound to happy crowds in London, San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. No stranger to adventure, 2022 saw Cavalier play new venues and festivals like The Knockdown Center, House of Yes, Love Burn as well as more intimate venues like TBA Brooklyn, Eris, beyond. The peak moment (of self-actualization) was a soul-quenching resident DJ set for Bubbles & Bass at Burning Man on Friday morning just before N2N and David Hohme. The San Francisco native is onto something special, and is here to stay in NYC. Catch him in bloom, dreaming with an open heart, an applied mind, and a desire to keep the floor moving to the celebratory sounds of life. Having played clubs, festivals and undergrounds from coast-to-coast, Cavalier consistently presents audiences a selection of compelling tracks guided by intelligent design.

Recorded at the outdoor barn stage at the Shameless Vicennial Festival at Forest Park in Darrington Washington. Headliners for the weekend were John Tejada and J.Phlip. 

This wasn't just any festival, it was a family reunion of the beautiful, weird, and supportive community that the Shameless crew has built and become known for over the past 20 years. It was an absolute honor to get down with so many of my friends, fellow DJs, peers, and mentors.

The Dutch/American artist The Scumfrog has been a household name in the underground Dance Music scene since 2000. His brand is known for many traits; music production, musicianship, DJing, featured vocalist, music coach, radio host, and remixing.

From his timeless early works like Watersong, to dubbed-out remixes of songs by mainstream artists like Kylie Minogue, Annie Lennox, Missy Elliott, to collaborations with David Bowie, Sting, and Cyndi Lauper (resulting in a Grammy nomination), he has been featured on virtually every prominent independent Dance label, from Bedrock to 1605, from Positiva to Knee Deep In Sound.

With his roots firmly planted in the experimental side of Dance Music and Electronica, The Scumfrog toured the world many times over with his unique DJ sets. He is also a staple at the Burning Man festival, where he performs his annual sunrise and sunset rituals to his devoted followers. The Scumfrog hosts club nights called M.B.T.S. (Most Below The Surface) where he usually plays the entire night, and he is in production with a new project in NYC featuring live percussionists.
