This is the accumulation of 3 years of work since my Electronic Poetry album. I’ve made countless more than 21 tracks since then, but these are the ones I’ve polished up. I'm finally satisfied the production quality to where I feel content to release them. This album marks roughly 10 years of making music since I uploaded my first track to the Newgrounds audio portal in 2008 (which I deleted because it was old and shitty, so just take my word for it that it was there lol).

I didn't start out as Groove Masta Putz, but after coming up with the name I set out on a musical journey to master my skills, mostly just for fun. It's been a therapeutic way to express myself and relieve stress in this occassionally chaotic, clusterfuck of a world. It’s also how I’ve spent many great, memorable moments with friends. My hope is that someday after The Revolution™ that all of us will enjoy a standard of living where music and other artistic pursuits are not seen as a special exception that a few gifted superstars create to be consumed by the masses (even if there are gifted people who deserve to be recognized as superstars), but rather I hope we can return to a time when music was something that connected us as a community like storytelling or ritualistic peyote trips.

With the advancements in music technology, hi-tech instruments are more available than ever. If it weren’t for DAWs (Digital Audio Workshops) like Renoise, I would have never been able to learn music nearly as much as I have. However, many people work so much that they never get to chance to cultivate their creative skills, use those instruments or be a part of a music community. So this is my contribution to the world of public art. This is your album now. Do with it as you please.

After looking online at videos using my music I was inspired to create an album with tracks that didn't make it in previous albums so people could use them in their projects. It's super cool to see the ways that your art can trickle into people's lives. I had already put a lot of work into these songs so it was just a question of polishing them up and making them feel cohesive together.

There should be a lot of familiar sounds in here, and some of it has already been released as demos over the years. However, there should be a lot of new stuff that people haven't really heard yet too. I also feel like I got a lot better at mixing & mastering the tracks so they sound more impressive on a wider range of sound systems than some of my previous work. At the very least it should sound more consistent through the album & a little louder on all of the tracks.

Each song has its own story that I encourage you to read about below. The album is named Remnants since most of these are tracks that didn't make the cut in previous albums over the years. There's a bunch of stuff that I've worked on since releasing my last album though, so some of it's new too.

Another reason for the album's name is because it feels like music that is the remnants of a bygone time that's quickly morphing into a weird new world. The spectrum of when I made these is pretty broad with some stuff going back as far as my college years (2013-2016) up to this year.

Anyway, excited to see where this will end up.
