The latest signing to Thomas Barnett’s Visillusion imprint is the up and coming Dutch DJ, Native 97 (Marijn Jansen). Coming from Utrecht, Native 97 starting DJing and crafting his unique style of “future house” & melodic techno from as early as 11 years old drawing inspiration from acts such as Depeche Mode, Orbital, & Prodigy to underground legends like Kerri Chandler, Oliver Heldens, & Tchami. This led to his first single “Move On” together with The Cynical & his first solo release “Frozen”, both garnering air-play on Sirius XM & many radio shows throughout Europe & abroad. Teaming back up with The Cynical in 2018, their “To The Deep” collaboration was also placed on many Spotify playlists.

Jump ahead to 2021, the COVID global pandemic gave Native 97 some extra time to produce & a break from DJing around Utrecht & Amsterdam… These unique circumstances allowed him to experiment and develop his melodic brand of techno & adopt a “mysterious vibe” into his colorful & artistic dance music. The product of all of this is the stunningly gorgeous title track “Levitate”.

Haunting & beautiful, “Levitate” takes the listener to dizzying heights while remaining locked into the groove. The careful ear will notice something a bit different with each time hearing it. 
This EP comes with some banging remixes by the likes of Lucien Foort, Eric de Man, & Paul Funk. Eric de Man’s “The Bass Is Silent remix” really pumps in any peak time setting, Lucien Foort’s remix flexes his trademark hypnotic funk perfectly, and the Paul Funk “Heavenly Dub” drives the bliss factor into overdrive with thumbing bass & sparkling glimmer. Native 97 also delivers the bonus track, “Gloaming”, a dance-floor treat that will also fascinate the senses with his signature melodic flavor.  All in all, there is something for everyone in this tight & refreshing melody-driven package…

Coming from Meaux, France, (which he likes to refer as Meauxtown), CloudMasterWeed grew up in the hip-hop culture of the 1980’s. As a dancer & rapper in the 1990’s he discovered a Moodymann track and instantly became an addict of house music from Detroit. The musical universe of CloudMasterWeed is a constant mix of Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, & Disco, but his first passion remains in the Detroit sound.

In 2005, CMW met Derrick Thompson (Drivetrain) of Soiree Records International… From that relationship he went to Detroit in 2008 where, as a DJ, CMW would dazzle audiences at many Movement Festival events. This is where CMW met Thomas Barnett, from there a long friendship would begin to form. In 2009, CloudMasterWeed’s first track "Oh Yeah" appears on the mini-compilation titled "Mo2Meaux" (on Soiree Records International). In 2010, he drops the catchy “Com'On'N'Join'Us" & in 2011, “Wicked System”, both also on SRI.

Fast forward to 2021, while the world begins to open back up CloudMasterWeed & Thomas Barnett prepare an EP for Visillusion titled “Anything Is Possible”. This uplifting message from The Matrix shines thru in CMW’s hauntingly fresh & deep house style. And it looks like we get a strong, driving techno remix from Barnett, and a floor-filling, future house remix from up & comer, Native 97. Closing out this dynamic EP is the hypnotic killer groove of, “U & Me Alone”, this banger gives us some more of that mysterious French house flavor that is unique to the one & only… CloudMasterWeed.

Detroit, USA, & Jakarta, Indonesia have a lot in common these days with the unlikely pairing of techno originator Thomas Barnett & his multi-talented protege, Ecilo (Reza Putra Andana). Their unique brand of uplifting, energy-packed, electronic funk has been filling dance floors across the globe for the past 7 months (for Barnett it's been a wee bit longer) starting with their "FRENCH LOOP EP" (VSD-002) & "BOY EP" (VSD-004) on Visillusion's digital imprint. 

This outing proves to be no different with 4 tracks of mind-melding, techno & acid, sonic mana... Barnett starts it off red-hot with "INDIGENOUS", a timeless adventure that sprinkles in just a few words from his long time friend & FOUR313 partner, Blake Baxter. While "PUNK" is about as raw & dirty as you may ever hear him get, expect some fat bass & another example of TB's signature vocal chants.  

Ecilo teams up with long time pal & technical guru, Jones, and together they deliver the goods with the acid crusher "VISILLUSION ACID", playing with vocals provided by Barnett and 303 melodies that wiggle & jerk between different dimensions of cosmic funk.
