Kraffti and ForeigNoor's infectious 'Bodies Rushing,' off our latest Bones To Pick compilation, gets the remix treatment from four promising and lauded producers.

First up, Groovy Bone head honcho Diskull wastes no time in doing the damn thing. An epic build is followed by a fat rubbery bass line that flexes and flows beneath a bed of shuffling beats. All the while the haunting vocal cascades above seductive horns.

Next, enter On Deck, an industry vet and A&R for Tommie Sunshine's Brooklyn Fire imprint. His rhythmic approach to 'Bodies Rushing' takes things in an entirely new direction. With its mutated top-line and chugging 808 bass, this is a prime-time heater with some serious weight.

Rock Bottom Records co-owner, Luxo preserves the melodic feel of the original and injects it with some proper bouncy and deep vibes. Bright and moody, this one is all about the bass line.

Rounding out the package is newcomer WOAHH!, who delivers a remix that's heavy on intricate sound design. He utilizes the vocal to great effect and has crafted a groovy counter melody that balances his syncopated percussion beautifully.

Bodies Rushing (Remixes)

Groovy Bone hops in the hip-hop time machine for a trip back to a storied era of club music. The Bonez N the Hood EP is a love letter to a storied era when hip-hop and R&B truly dominated the mainstream. When MTV Cribs took us inside the excess and bling of rap's heroes, and the only thing that mattered was money, bars, and beats.

Label boss Diskull kicks things off with 'Sticky Icky,' an anthemic ode to nature's miracle. A ludicrous kick and dirty bass line are sure to bring the stank face and an expertly chopped sample perfectly kicks our journey off in classic club class.

The Florida trio of MASF, Lord Rash, and Caleb Dent take us to the afterparty for some sultry shenanigans. The lads team up for a monster collab on 'Anywhere' as its earworm chorus floats like a dream over the top of a slapping chunky bassline and so fresh so clean drums.

Brook Legends take us on our last stop with some classic East Coast flava. Don't let the name 'SlutHoFreak' fool you, this is a massive takedown on fuckboys everywhere. The only thing tighter than the sample choice is the way the intricate percussion plays with the rolling bassline. The rhythmic play that Brook Legends has achieved proves that he has funk flowing through his veins.

The first four installments of the Bones to Pick series have been absolute units, each landing a spot on the Beatport Top 100 chart and garnering support from some of the scene's heavy hitters including Black V Neck, CODES, and Westend, just to name a few. Volume 5 is no different. Like the others that feature rising talent from cities near and far, the next installment showcases talent from the label's hometown, Charlotte, NC, as well as Canada, California and beyond.

Kicking off Bones to Pick Vol. 5 is Canada's Willy B. who has become a label mainstay, returning with 'How It Feels'. A stark cut of tech-house, the track hits listeners with a sub-heavy kick and grooving bass layered under sharp hi-hats, pitchy synths and a catchy vocal, these steady roller is primed for a good dance floor rinsing.

The next picked bone is from 35mm, who made some noise on Dirtybird's Birdfeed series last year. This track, titled 'BANG', is a straight up banger, like the name suggests. Delivering thumping bass off of the bat, this vigorous record features a deep, rolling bass line, bubbling sound effects and a loud fuzzy horn. Reminiscent of the early bizarre 'booty-house' sound in the bay, it is easy to see where this San Diego artist gets his inspiration from.

Hailing from Charlotte, WOAHH! makes his second appearance on Groovy Bone with his record 'House B!tches'. The track features syncopated percussion, buzzing synth sounds and snappy vocal that leads into a shuffling, hard-hitting drop. Driving bass pushes into the second drop, which rolls out a funky breakdown to finish the track.

Charlotte-based newcomer Mr. Alexander's 'Days and Nights'' is next up on the compilation. This uplifting record has more of a flowing feel to it than the other tracks on the release, but is no less a belter, with bouncing bass that is perfectly complemented with uplifting chords. Featuring an instant groove that continues to build on itself throughout the track, Mr. Alexander created a record that manages to sound classic with a new age house twist. It's safe to say you can expect more Groovy Bone content soon from this fresh hometown face.

Groovy Bone's VAs would be empty without our beloved Canadian artists, and Kevin Kaldas keeps that strong bond going with his song 'Eyo'. This high-energy cut sees Kaldas layer modulated synths and a glitchy vocal over a wobbling bass line. Building into the drop, the track meshes varying bizarre sound effects to create a stimulating record perfected for a peak hour set.

Oxigenate, a Houston-based artist, rounds out the comp with his track 'Damn Boy'. Kicking off the record, pumping synth pads, airy vocals and percussion sounds meet the listener's ear. Flowing into the drop, some nasty sound design and pounding subs are married with a crisp hi-hat and bright keys to create the perfect finish to a dynamic, energetic collection of tunes from beginning to end.

'Miss You Ospina' is a direct response to the loss of our friend, Alan Ospina. As artists and music lovers, our only release is through rhythm and dance. Alan understood this completely. He was an incredible artist, a beautiful human being and a fabric of the Charlotte community. His loss has been devastating and will continue to be for a long time to come in our little big city. We will never forget his smile, laugh and of course his oh so smooth moves on the dance floor.

Kenneth Cullens aka Anguish Years, a good friend of Alan's, was inspired to create 'Miss You Ospina' in his remembrance. When Kenneth posted the record on social media for close friends to listen to, Groovy Bone founder Diskull came across the record and after one listen knew he had to give it a proper release.

In Kenneth's own words: 'Upon hearing the news, I had to release my feelings into musical form. I sat in the studio, with no idea of how to approach this song, except for allowing my heart to lead the way. I wanted the track to represent the wave of emotion that builds after tragedy. 0:46 you will hear a sharp sound that builds which is the shock and disbelief. Almost as if you have become deaf and numb to everything around you. Following this, at 1:00, the wave hits like a broken floodgate of emotion. At the same time, the record has a sense of beauty, euphoria, peace and celebration of life. All of which is what Alan is and deserves.'

All profits of this song will go directly to Alan's family to use however they choose. We will miss you forever, Alan. Keep the vibes high in heaven for us, until we meet again brother <3

It is full of analog goodness and sadly relatable as the girls aren't the only the ones who have been 'up in that house' for a while now. Skene Music delivers a chunky tune that will have you tempted to 'Try This' when you scroll by it in your playlist, followed by new Canadian duo Start Sign as they take a vocal classic and twist it up with a driving bass line and modern tech house vibe. MUUS, Will On Cloud Nine and BearKat round off the collection with funky records of their own that will be sure to get some love on the dance floors (once we can all party again of course). Canadian newcomer Willy B. brings his funky fresh style to Groovy Bone in his new Throw It Down EP, our first 2 tracker of the year.

Setting things off with 'All I Do,' Willy shows off his mastery of rhythm with snappy drums and a crispy clean percussive layer, expertly accentuated with a neck snapping synth line that stays locked right in the pocket. Mr. B proves that keeping it tight doesn't mean overcomplicating things, rounding out the track with a warm and thumpy bottom heavy bassline that will give your subs a well needed post-quarantine workout.

The title track comes alongside his collab with Siconic, 'Throw It Down', a smashing tech heavy record with a taste of French touch. The real star here is the interplay between the slumping bassline and a bed of warm, fuzzy chords. Willy doesn't skimp on the drums here either, stamping his trademark shuffle all over a groovy helping of slick percussion.

Groovy Bone is a global crew, but it's always a pleasure to big up artists from our hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. When local producer and long time friend DOMii dropped this roller on us, we knew we had to release it.

'Dive In' is unique and brilliantly composed, bass-line driven tech house. DOMii wastes no time illustrating her impeccable sense of rhythm and percussive timing. A bed of crisp drums lays the groundwork for an even crispier rolling sub bass, while a swimming blanket of synths slithers its way in before she establishes a funky 303 theme, establishing the tone for an exciting second drop. It floats and shimmies through a beautifully cohesive set of thematic elements, yet it never loses focus on moving bodies. 'Dive In' was a bit of a quarantine experiment for DOMii, as it's evident she wanted to create something clean and groovy to round out our last few weeks of pool weather.

The Bones to Pick series has become a proving ground for up and coming artists in a crowded tech-house scene. Each volume has hit the Beatport top 100 releases. And with support from the likes of Black V Neck, CODES, Reid Speed, Tommie Sunshine, Two Tails, and Foolie it's clear that a tight-knit community of respected artists agrees that Groovy Bone is killing it.

Bones to Pick, Vol. 4 introduces a fresh crop of dynamic artists to the family. Las Vegas' Kraffti makes his Groovy Bone debut with 'Bodies Rushing.' Featuring the slinky vocals of Foreignoor which stand out amongst the track's shimmering synth work and rolling bass-line. An ICON collective grad, the relative new-comer has already shown great promise picking up support from Alison Wonderland and Zeds Dead.

Kyle Zuck is also new to Groove Bone but comes to us with a well-established catalog of club thumpers on labels like WyldCard, Nite Records, and MTWAT. 'The Way,' is a perfect example of his bouncy meets dirty style. A jackin' drumline is balanced with a stanky elastic bass and a chunky bundle of greasy synths.

Canada's Stackhouse makes his return to Groovy Bone on 'The Gift.' A stark and moody number, Stackhouse has put together something truly unique. Dark and tribal, the song floats through an ever-evolving bed of undulating synths and rave stabs. He's crafted something equally spooky and dance-floor rocking.

Multi-talented Seattle artist Lowsh is yet another new-comer to the label. He's set himself apart from other artists with his innovative live vs. DJ sets that incorporate vocals, synths, and drum machines into an already high energy playlist. 'Boom' is a classic tech-house cut with a warm and so fresh, so clean low end that envelopes the speakers.

Hometown homeboy Whenuknow drops a wonderfully quirky number called 'Higher.' While the bass-line is what drives this one, the beautifully weird synths and funky drum fills are what make it so much fun.

And rounding out the release is Johnny 2 Shots who flexes his muscle on the naughty 'OTD.' This one is dirty in more ways than one. A bouncing almost breaksy drum beat supports an onslaught of twerking vocal snippets that are lovingly NSFW.

Idaho's very own BearKat returns to Groovy Bone to drop some heat on us with his Oh Babe / Yeh! EP just in time to warm up those cooling winter bones. The title track 'Oh Babe' injects just a touch of soul to keep the beat driving from start to finish. With a equally catchy B-Side, 'Yeh!' shows his mastery of slithering bassline fueled tech. Accented by spicy vocal chops and drums to make your rump clap, the funk is strong with 'Yeh!'. It's clear that he's broken from the pack of big room festival tech-house here to craft something that's unique yet true to the roots of house music.

Proving his consistency with this 2 tracker, BearKat is a quickly rising figure in the scene. We are excited to welcome him back to the Groovy Bone family for his sophomore release, and debut EP with us.
