This is the third and final song in the Sections of the Band pages from "Leap Into Learning" + "A Collection from the LeapPad Library". (This is the inspiration for "The Wide Wide Ocean" from 'Mario Party' and "Stage Theme 1" from 'Milon's Secret Castle' everytime I hear this song now.)

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" is a 1908 Tin Pan Alley song by Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer which has become the unofficial anthem of North American baseball, although neither of its authors had attended a game prior to writing the song. The song's chorus is traditionally sung during the middle of the seventh inning (or in doubleheaders, fifth) of a baseball game. Fans are generally encouraged to sing along to this baseball anthem.

Leap's Learning Band - Introducing... the Band! (Dialogue)

Here's one of the 25 songs from the Leap's Learning Band. This is one of the songs from LeapFrog's 1-2-3 SING! CD. Along with the original by Fran Avni, this version (along with the one from 1-2-3 SING!) is enjoyable as the original one.

Name Game is the 6th song and a rhyming song from the LeapFrog album 1-2-3 Sing! It teaches the names and rhyming by a different consonant. It is sung by Fran Avni in the original version and Amy X. Neuberg in the album 1-2-3 Sing! as well as in the version played on Leap’s Learning Band Jammin’ Boombox, which is the 3rd song of the 25 preloaded songs.

Leap's Learning Band - Name Game (Vocal)

Here's one of the 25 songs from the Leap's Learning Band. Let's begin with the song everyone knows -- it's the ABC song! A, B, C, D, E, F, G -- listen to this and sing with me!

The Alphabet Song is a song that is designed to teach children the alphabet. It shares the same commonalities and tune as do Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.

The song was first copyrighted in 1835 by the Boston-based music publisher Charles Bradlee, and given the title "The A.B.C., a German air with variations for the flute with an easy accompaniment for the piano forte". The musical arrangement was attributed to Louis Le Maire (sometimes Lemaire), an 18th-century composer. This was "Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1835, by C. Bradlee, in the clerk's office of the District Court of Massachusetts", according to the Newberry Library, which also says, "The theme is that used by Mozart for his piano variations, Ah, vous dirai-je, maman." This tune is the same as the tune for "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and similar to that of "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep".

Due to the speed at which 'L, M, N, O, P' is spoken it is a common misconception among children still learning the alphabet to believe that it is in fact its own letter called 'elemenopee' (among other variations). Some have proposed teaching slower versions of the song to avoid this issue.

Leap's Learning Band - Song Starters (Voice Lines)

Here's one of the 25 songs from the Leap's Learning Band. This song teaches numbers, and... UP AND DOWN again?! We had the "Itsy Bitsy Spider", now it's the mouse going up the clock and down again.

"Hickory Dickory Dock" or "Hickety Dickety Dock" is a popular English-language nursery rhyme. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 6489.

The earliest recorded version of the rhyme is in Tommy Thumb's Pretty Song Book, published in London in about 1744, which uses the opening line: 'Hickere, Dickere Dock'. The next recorded version in Mother Goose's Melody (c. 1765), uses 'Dickery, Dickery Dock'.

The rhyme is thought by some commentators to have originated as a counting-out rhyme. Westmorland shepherds in the nineteenth century used the numbers Hevera (8), Devera (9) and Dick (10) which are from the language Cumbric.

The rhyme is thought to have been based on the astronomical clock at Exeter Cathedral. The clock has a small hole in the door below the face for the resident cat to hunt mice.
