Like a foggy morning in the Bwindi forest, the latest track by multidisciplinary French artist Clément Davout aka Adhémar, calms your senses and creates a feeling of tranquility. ‘Bwindi’ builds on Adhémar’s signature low-slung techno enriched with organic percussions and beautiful field recordings. It’s a meditative journey ideal for moments of self-reflection. 

Bwindi is part of the ‘Primärwald’ compilation, which is coming out on December 8th and marks the inauguration of the Lyon-based record label Monochrome.

OUR man Quantec is nothing if not versatile. An aficionado of many styles including ambient, deep house, Detroit, dub, dubby electronics, experimental and roots reggae, he can turn his hand adeptly across the musical palette. For this his latest release on Neighbour Recordings it’s all about the ‘D’; deep ambient, drone and dub techno that’s dope with a capital ‘D’. Not for nothing is his album titled Journey of Mind. It’s a personal and self-assured trip from first note to last – not surprising for a producer with almost 25 years in the game – drifting as it does through contemplative sonic worlds and ethereal soundscapes. And while the label co-owner’s handiwork here is from the ‘less is more’ school of production, it’s nonetheless big on atmosphere with an undercurrent of drama or melody never too far away. Notable destinations on this journey include Depth of Immersion, Mind Wandering, Motionless and Perfect Stranger. Bon voyage.

Opening with 'Nothing And All', the EP immediately plunges into a vast soundscape. A dense chord progression glides over a tight rhythmic pattern, propelled by a pulsating bassline that commands attention. The track unfolds patiently, allowing each element to breathe, setting the tone for the journey ahead. 'Night Before Spring Comes' follows with a more spacious and contemplative approach. Its steady tempo is wrapped in layers of crackling static, evoking a sense of aged transmissions echoing through time. Grounded In Humanity claims to be an output for the most instinctive aspect of the Human Species, which is certainly the most creative one and also the responsible for chaining these creatures to their own existence, preventing them to evolve from a more rational perspective. This hypothetical development would probably bring equal opportunities for the vast majority of the collective and a greater progression indeed. 
However, the power of the individual is systematically given priority condemning this species to a mere and miserable existence.

The label narrates a metaphoric science fiction story where each vinyl reference represents a chapter, comprising a comic and an intro or outro speech to further illustrate the plot of the episode.
