Joton joins for DifferentSound Podcast #108.

Joton is synonymous with dark techno, iron, futuristic and sensitive, all mixed with the precision and speed of a surgeon. It is physical, blunt, modular and exciting.  His label `Newrhythmic´ has been more than 15 years supporting high-octane techno by native and foreign artists. Joton’s tracks have been published by labels such as Fabric, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Format, Dynamic Reflection, More Than Less ... and have been charted and screened by artists of the great size of Ben Klock, Dvs1, Rodhad , Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Adam Beyer, Surgeon, Truncate….  As a DJ, he has evolved from his beloved and traditional vinyl to the current digital format. Thanks to it, Jotón enriches his sessions by providing an added boost to his innate ability to connect it to the dance floor. In 2015, a milestone occurred in his career with the publication of his first album 'Casting Out Nines' that garnered excellent reviews by the public and specialized press. It was considered one of the best works in long format of that year and this placed Joton in the focus of the entire global techno scene. He launched this album in 10 countries on 3 different continents. In this 2017 Joton release his second great project called 'R3silient', present his purest and analogical side; Returning, once again, to the primitive, to the seminal, to the roots of techno. In 2018 two new works will see the light, Antioquia on the German label ODD EVEN and Extreme Mesures on RAW RAW, again capturing the industry's attention. Joton's global touring schedule has filled up with performances at the most renowned venues in the world including Under club in Buenos Aires, Tresor in Berlin, Le Batofar in Paris, Corsica Studios in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Propaganda in Moscow, Domunne in Tokyo, Vurt in Seoul, Razzmatazz and Moog in Barcelona, Stardust and Fabrik in Madrid, among others.

DifferentSound invites Joton / Podcast #108

Born and raised in Santander, @p-e-a-r-l first witnessed electronic music from late 90s - early 00s sounds which played a fundamental role in his productions/ As a teenager, the Spaniard immersed himself within club culture and was immediately drawn to the harsh beats of British techno. 

2006 marks the starting point of his now primary outlet: P.E.A.R.L. releasing his first tracks on @tsunamirecs.
In 2012 he moves to Berlin and one year after he founds his own imprint, @falling-ethics Records, first as an outlet for his own productions and lately opening the doors to other creators like Umwelt or Oscar Mulero.
2017 is going to be a pivotal year on his career, with the release of his first Album, Temptation through Impatience, to be released on his very own Falling Ethics imprint and his addition to @polegroup.
Recently in 2020-2021, he unleashed a string of hard-hitting tracks and EPs such as Tribal Science on Hector Oaks imprint OAKS or We Will Not All Fall, the first release of his new Falling Ethics sublabel Moral Standards: A subjective look at the current Techno scene with music from artists like Matrixxman, Sunil Sharpe, VCO or Nene H. 

As a performer he is an excellent selector in the DJ booth, combining the pulse of pounding grooves in a very eclectic way, always making his sets an unexpected journey.

John was born in Toledo but he is currently based in Barcelona. Having started as Korben Nice in 2012, he developed the aim of evolving over the years and established its own sounds within the styles of electronic music. He stands out for the diversity, harmonic, atmospheric, electronic, techno, hard-techno or ambient of the styles that define him.

He has collaborated with several big names in the scene, released at quite a few most notorious labels and his performances have sounded in both national and international well known locations.

He has now crafted an exclusive set for us that certainly defines our philosophy.
