Yuka is a female DJ now based in Moscow (where she has lived since 1998), but who began her career in distant Bratsk, Siberia. The town - a local industrial center - is probably more famous for what it dumps than what it makes; in the recent past it was listed as one of the thirty most polluted cities in the world. It wouldn't take much persuasion for someone to move on... Yuka's preparation for a shift to the capital's nightclubs was lengthy, however, since music had played an important role in her life since the age of 6.
Over time, her passions moved in the direction of painting, sculpture, and design - activities she continues to this day. That initial school-day enthusiasm at the piano would eventually win out, though, and dictate her choice of higher education. Her musical training thus led to a degree from the Irkutsk Arts Institute, where she no doubt studied under her real name, Irina Solobutova.
Now that she's fully ensconced in Moscow, her music appears regularly through the outlets of four labels: Fullpanda, Semantica, Silent Season, Pro-Tez. She is a resident of Fullpanda label parties named ALL YOU NEED IS EARS.

Grounded Podcast number 60 welcomes Argentinian duo, YYYY, who are residing in Buenos Aires. Starting off through experimentations of a wide range of genres, the pair quickly realised that through techno they could really project their feelings in bringing together a piece of music where visions and art collide. Having caught our attention with a fantastic release on Planet Rhythm several months ago, the pair continue to push new boundaries, maintaing a balance of control and chaos whilst generating different climates of emotions through their use of ambience and drones.

Guest Mix 67: Codex Empire

Next on the series is one fantastic live recording that took place at Staub, Berlin, a few months ago thanks to one of the American techno purveyors hailing from Los Angeles, AXKAN. His performances are rare and more so are the live recordings of them -- comprised of a unique and tailored hybrid set that tantalizes the audience between apocaliptic kicks and unrelenteing drums. Wrong Assessment is a dj, producer and label manager from Milan, Italy.

With releases on heavyweight labels such as M_REC, Planet Rhythm, Pole Group, MORD, Edit Select and Clergy, he has found himself playing all over the globe.

He is the founder of AWRY, a platform to release both his own, as well as other artist's music. This has been based on a common ground of deep, hypnotic and minimalistic Techno and has been coupled with strong aesthetics and imagery. He's going to release a new EP on his imprint later this month.

He's half of the Overall Severity project together with his mentor Max_M.
