Sean Pierce debuts on Mannequin Records with an intense dark / techno modular synth 6 tracks EP. 

Currently operating out of Portland, Oregon, Sean is one half of ASSS, who put out two acclaimed singles on Mannequin Records parent label Haunted Air Records. 

One of the most fascinating elements of Sean's artistic principle is his absolute lack of propriety over his artistic work, which is a beautiful and radical approach. He encourages people to check out his set-up at shows to see what he's concocted. A performance is enjoyable in part because he's able to share information, for he believes a collective pool of idea sharing and advancements into how people think and what they're doing is "really important for the creative community.

Sean is interested in the rearranging of elements within a performance: taking sounds that he or someone else has made and sending them through his particular process. Specific categorization is not applicable to his sound projects, but he says there is something industrial about it, a metallic quality that is, of late, satisfying. The most appropriate articulation of his music might be: the percussive use of synthesizers.

"In The Dark Again", sister-label of SnuffTrax, made quite an impression on us with their second outing earlier this year, a split ep including an epic 16mn long industrial techno cut called "Valium Water" by french legend Laurent Prot aka "In Aeternam Vale". This fourth release is a various artist mini compilation & sees the return of Beta Evers, long dead Kommando 6 label queen, who delivers 2 tracks in her pure trademark style, we're so happy to see her back here at LYO ! Nonetheless our fave track from the ep is A1 by greek artist June who is another LYO favorite, you might noticed he made a mix for us already and we premiered his remix for Argy & Mama some weeks ago. “​ The Ballad of Daddy & Johnny”, co-written with D.Vanchesteing, is an obvious testimony: the melancholy pop lullaby. It's "La ballade de Johnny Jane" (Gainsbourg) but less cheesy and more morbid. Metaphorically, it’s a doll from the 19th century, giggling and looking you straight in the eyes. Musically, it’s a ​Giallo À La Femminielli​. There is no blood, no blade penetration--just a swift graze of the jugular. The bittersweet memories, the American pleasures, and the quest for a dream have become his own undoing-- the mask has finally fallen off. The entertainer can finally emerge on the other side with his double and swallow the pill.
