Tokyo resident and Jansen Jarden honcho Max Essa has been making music since the early 90's, he has produced tracks and remixes for labels like Paper, D-Vision, Bear funk, Nang and Tirk... His own solo work, Midnight Garden and Continental Drift feature not only his production work but his elegant guitar playing. (as does his remix of Apollo Heights!) Back to the Beach released from Continental Drift was a huge record and is emblematic of Max's cosmic and crisp production style. In addition to his playing and producing Max is also a serious DJ as his guest set here shows.

UK underground legend Richard Sen's career spans over 20 years of DJ & production work. One of the first wave of serious UK train graf writers, Richard gained notoriety with his musical projects Padded Cell and Bronx Dogs. He has also done production and remix work for LCD Soundsystem, Bryan Ferry, Saint Etienne and The Jungle Brothers amongst others. Richard is an amazing DJ who's style has a dark soulful and psychedelic edge that comes through in the broad range of music he plays. (I had him play my birthday party, he's friggin awesome!) For those that know, Sean P is the man, possessing tremendous knowledge and refined taste, he takes things to the next level and keeps it adult. (Not to editorialize, but in this new - flavor of the min - 2 edits and a remix and I'm a star - triteness of the nu disco scene, someone like Sean is a necessary antidote) Check out his mixes, his edits (on Cosmic Boogie and Tirk etc..), or his super nice compilations - His "Originals" for Mudd's Claremont imprint, Destination Boogie, SupaFunkanova or Disco not Disco - with Joey Negro, or you may know his mastering and restoration work (see Brand New Wayo on Mukatsuku, or the Originals series on Claremont). Paul Murphy aka Mudd runs the great Claremont 56 label and has published a tremendous amount of quality music over the past 5 years. He is a busy guy, who recently celebrated 5 years of Claremont with a extensive worldwide tour. Musician, composer, DJ, label head etc... Takkra  is  the  electronic  music  project  of  Hungarian  born  visual  artist,  guitarist  and  producer  David  Vigh. Takkra&rsquo;s  unique  style  is  characterised  by  David&rsquo;s  cinematic,  textural  guitar  sound,  natural  atmospheres,  etherial  synths,  psychedelic  effects  and  soft  grooves.  These  soundscapes  were  specifically  designed  to  treat  listeners  with  soothing,  regenerating  frequencies  and  healing  energies.

Takkra - Merging Matter with Spirit (Original mix)

Last time we heard from the Growing Bin, Basso was sat at the water‘s edge, trousers rolled up, toes in the tide, savouring a Falanghina while Eleventeen Eston went with the wave. Now we move from the shoreline to the ocean shelf, led on an underwater adventure by young Parisian Shelter. Where previ- ous releases have seen the synth-obsessed Frenchman take his inspiration from Caribbean rhythms or Balearic attitudes, this marine missive sees Shelter turn to the lavish world of the library, creating his an alternate score to Jean Faurez’ 1960 documentary short.
More submersible than snorkel, our journey begins in the very dark of the deep, mystical harp trills echoing through the inky blackness, picking up the bioluminescent shimmer of an Abraliopsis Squid. Gradually we make our way into the light, cruising past shoals of silver scales and underwater forests. ‚Immersion’ offers a placid, percolating rhythm and billowing pads, providing sonic symmetry for the dancing leaves, while the spheric soundscape of ‘La Vie A L’Ombre’ bubbles away like an underwater volcano. The optimistic ambience of ‘Plenitude Azotee’, brimming with delicate melody and glistening sequences, perfectly captures the wide-eyed wonder of a reef dive, before drifting into the serenity of ‘Parade’, an aquatic acquaintance of A.R.T. Wilson’s ‘Overworld’. A brief foray into shark fin funk sees out the A-side, before we’re back amid the beauty of the ocean floor; ‘Variation Abyssale II’ echoing the album opener but with even more poetry. The exotic and otherworldly sine waves of ‘Dans La Jungle De Varech’ simultaneously sound like a rainforest canopy, alien landscape and coral microcosm, expanding our horizons nicely ahead of the adrenaline rush of ‘Hors D’Haleine’. Shelter then sets us at ease with the tidal tonality and subtle shuffle of ‘Fumeurs Noirs’, a sublime synthetic suite, then leaves us to marvel at the soft focus splendour of ‘Synthii Outro’.
