Paralyzed (Aviators Cover feat. Nights over Neptunes)

Let me tell you a story.

A few years ago, Furious Feedback released their first version of My Starving Heart. I fell in love with the song almost immediately and it quickly became my then favorite song by Furious Feedback.

I am good friends with Daniel, who is the singer and founder of Furious Feedback, and every now and then we do covers together. So one day, he was like "Hey, would you like to do another version of My Starving Heart with me?" Obviously, I couldn't say no. (Unfortunately, that version is not online anymore.)

So, when Nights over Neptune, Daniels solo project, released "Tainted (My Starving Heart II)" you can imagine my reaction. Let's just say: All teh hype!

So here we are now. I did a version of My Starving Heart 1 and could not let go the chance to do my own take on the second one. The rest... well, you can listen to it yourself.

Tainted (Nights over Neptune - Cover)

It took way longer than I'd like to admit to finish this one. Not because I've spend so long working on it (well, actually... that too!), but mostly because over the last weeks so many things came up and kept me from working on this.
It's still not perfect, but neither am I. It's as good as I can hope to achieve right now and I'm more than happy with that :)

Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands growing up and til this day their music is still important to me. Especially Numb is dear to my heart, so I had to make a cover of it

When I first listened to this song three and a half months ago, it high fived me. With a chair. To the face. This song hits so close to home, I had little choice but to cover it.

Now, on November 1st 2020, I'm finally happy with the result of this cover. I've learned a ton about music production again, improved my skills and, again, would call this my best production so far. I'm more than happy with the quality - when I started making music on my own in February 2019 I didn't expect to reach this level of skill. That's not to say there isn't much I can still learn about music production, but personally I'm more than happy with the pace of my improvements.

The timing of the release of this song is a bit wild and kinda funny. Aviators just release The Reimagined Future, a remix album of The Cinematic Future, the album the original Disconnected is on. Reimagined Future is a synth-inspired album - and contains a synth-remix of Disconnected as well.
That version and mine explore synth sounds in very different ways tho. Gotta admit, when I read about that release I was scared my cover would feel like a rip-off. Sure, I know that's not the case, but I think with how different these versions are, no one would feel that way anyway, so yay.
