A favourite of the Lucidflow family, Argentinian Grünbox returns for one of the most direct and immediate releases of the year. A slightly new direction for us, as we see some (non-cliched) vocals added to the fray, subtle enough not to terrify the head to the dub crowd. Pura Vida heads straight to a classic for its centrepiece, a pitched down soul vocal cuts across the smooth rolling backing with a deft She tears you down darling, says you're nothing at all. Keeping with choice vocals, Nash Zorin provides the sultry lyrics to Cosmic Cachondo, giving a tasty dash of tabasco to the slick techy groove. Grunbox's final piece of the EP puzzle is the robotic tech funk of Ride With Me, a darker moment that can straddle the many blurred lines that surround House music. A commanding male vocal barks across the atmosphere, laden with distorting effects. Plus, as ever, Lucidflow's mama extraordinaire, Nadja Lind, steps in with a remix of Pura Vida to tie off the package. A deeper slant on the original, its muted atmosphere uses shuffling percussion to great effect, managing to give a sense of urgency and tension. Strong on all fronts, no need to pick favourites here, just play them all!

Escobar is the brainchild of Leo Grünbaum (Argentina) and Carlos Olmos (Bolivia). Graduates of the legendary Berklee College Of Music in Boston, USA, They have been creating intelligent electronica since 2001. By experimenting with Jazz, Tango, Classical and, of course, a bit of Andean Folk Music, they have arrived at a unique sound. The word "eclectic" was invented to describe Escobar - no two tracks are the same. 

Up to date, there are 2 released albums, "Bip" (2001) and "Raca!"(2003) on Tu Vieja Records. Both projects featuring stellar appearances by:

Kelly Buchanan (vox), Polina Goudieva (vox), Asa Runefeld (vox), Lily Cushman (vox), Vicky Love (vox), Sandra Arán (vox), Sasha Samsonova (rhodes), Javier Vercher (tenor sax).

This Libélula Sessions Mix is an hour long collection from some of their incidental, low tempo productions (2001-2003).

A multi-instrumentalist trained at Berklee College of Music, Grünbaum blends electronic, symphonic and jazz elements to create his signature sound. Léo delivers distinctive live/DJ sets: trippy, sexy, soundtrack-esque tracks that move hips and open minds. Since 2010 he has toured the globe, collaborating with fellow artists (Alex Under, Matthew Dekay, Guti). With releases on Trapez Ltd, Desolat, Lucidflow and more, Grünbaum joined the All Day I Dream family in 2017, merging the vision of his Tech House act Grünbox with the lushness of a new sound.
