Birmingham’s Fleur Shore joins Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint for the very first time with ‘Bret (Heads Down)’, a dynamic two-track EP that further cements her reputation as one of electronic music’s standout rising voices. Tipped early as one of the scene’s brightest talents, and having established herself as a BBC Radio 1 favourite thanks to a standout Essential Mix and her own BBC R1 Residency, Fleur’s arrival on Hot Creations feels like a natural next step, building on her acclaimed 2024 debut on sister label Paradise and regular appearances at the brand’s globally-renowned events. 

A nod to the iconic Amsterdam venue BRET, the title track ‘Bret (Heads Down)’ is a heads-down, groove-forward roller engineered for big moments. Crisp drums and subtle bass movements carry the track through a trippy, late-hours atmosphere, focusing on stripped-back tension and dancefloor hypnosis. On the B-side, ‘You Don’t Understand’ keeps the energy simmering with an all-action blend of vibrant vocal samples, heavy-hitting percussion and woozy old-school organ stabs, balancing attitude with atmosphere in Fleur’s unmistakable UK-influenced style. 

The release lands as Fleur continues her ascent through the global house circuit, following high-profile releases on labels like Cecille, Edible, and her own Undergrowth imprint, plus a non-stop touring that’s seen her recently land at Kappa Futur to Jones’ own Paradise In The City in London. With ‘Bret (Heads Down)’, Fleur Shore adds her own chapter to the Hot Creations story, bringing her distinctively deep and slinky sound to one of dance music’s most influential labels.

Born in Peru and now based in Phoenix, Gio Lucca (ISO, Black Book, Deeperfect) is on a mission to make people dance and boogie, and the titled "Control" EP on La Zic is a testament to his commitment. With support from some of the industry’s best, such as Jamie Jones and Marco Carola, to name a few, Gio Lucca's ascent to the major stages seems to be inevitable and under... control.

Retro-house fat drums and funky disco jabs are the bread and butter on the lead track, while "Keep It Quiet" - in collaboration with Argentinian talent Julio Bravo - offers glitchy atmospheres, tight grooves, and deadly, pointy bass licks. The EP gets enriched by two remixes, with Proudly People delivering a rolling, tech version designed for the early hour moments on the terrace, while Lolu Menayed sets the tone with a dreamy, afterhours tool.

The original track features a powerful Klassik Mix by K'Alexi Shelby, his second release on the label, a living legend of Chicago house who earned critical acclaim with The Ron Hardy Memo and is now back on the label stronger than ever. The record also includes three heavyweight remixes: Sirus Hood, a longtime friend of the label, talented artist and producer, founder of Mood Child, and deeply connected to the Chicago scene — having produced a documentary featuring interviews with some of the most iconic names in house music; The Checkup, label head of Heattraxx, delivers his deep and driving grooves as seen on labels like Kaoz Theory, Snatch! and House Puff; and Joe Smooth, another legendary Chicago pioneer, known for classic acid house sounds and immortalized by the anthem “Promised Land.” A tribute to house heritage, infused with the spirit of the Windy City in every beat.
