Drumcomplex & Frank Sonic are joining forces for their upcoming single “Direct Dizko,” set for release on February 9th on Second State Audio. 

After Patrick Chardronnet's cover version of Jean-Michel Jarre's classic 'Oxygene Part II' Second State Audio revives another classic: “Direct Dizko” This is a masterful rework of the iconic track 'S.O. Project - Direct Dizko' a cornerstone in the techno genre that has left an indelible mark since its initial release in 1998. The original track, known for its electrifying melody and pulsating energy, was first introduced as part of Samuel Onervas' S.O. Project and has undergone various remixes over the years, including notable versions by Dub Foundation, T78, and Housequake. These adaptations have continually revived the track's spirit, showcasing its lasting influence in the techno scene. 

In their latest interpretation, Drumcomplex & Frank Sonic breathe new life into this classic. Retaining the original melody, they infuse it with a heightened sense of aggression and energy, delivering a sound that is both modern and meticulously crafted. The duo's version stands out with its stomping kick and groove, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved techno masterpiece.

Dast joins the Second State Audio family with his latest work "Shadow Roots“ EP, a journey in the realms of techno and house, marking the 126th release of the imprint of Germany’s most beloved Techno duo Pan-Pot. 

"Shadow Roots" showcases Dast's sonic evolution, offering a 3-trackers that navigates the intricate spaces between house and techno. This EP not only reflects Dast's roots in the vibrant musical culture of Naples but also his journey through the electronic music landscape. 

The opening track, "Parentesi" is a darker techno cut, showcasing his storytelling skills with a fast tempo, pulsating leads and a rolling groove, underscoring Dast's versatility and innovative approach to music production. Following, "I Can't Get" captivates with hypnotic drum breaks and repeating chopped vocals, enriched by dreamy pads that maintain the EP's thematic blend. Concluding the EP, the title track „Shadow Roots" sets the tone with its energetic piano chords and an emotional narrative, balanced with a classic drum groove and atmospheric vocals. "Raving Society" by our label head is a melodic ravy-techno masterpiece that has been making the emotions boil up in Patrik's sets for quite some time and has already made ravers close their eyes on dance-floors around the world.

Punchy distorted drums and a catchy 303 acid bass line form the foundation of the track. Sharp hihats and rhythmic shakers combined with super saturated congas groove the listener through this techno epic. For the next instalment of Say What? we see two of our regular and powerhouse techno producers Greg Notill and Tony Romanello join forces to deliver an electrifying 4-track EP to set dancefloors ablaze and is a seamless fusion of their distinct styles!

The EP Starts off with 'Timeless' - a relentless banger characterized by its pounding bassline and atmospheric textures, setting the tone for the voyage that lies ahead. Raw sound design and deep pulsating stabs keep things rolling and driving, maintaining the energy from start to end!

'Patterns' is up next delving into intricate percussive patterns and evolving synths, injecting a surge of adrenaline with its rhythmical energy and hypnotic groove and being a testament of the boundless creativity and collaborative energy these two producers bring together.

Third up is 'Collateral Damage', the track that blends rhythmic complexities with infectious sound tweaks and takes the listener on a sonic assault with its deep energy that ignites the senses straight away from the first moment you listen to the track.

This work marks a welcome return for Torwellen after four years away. Before that, he established himself with a dark, dense and introspective sound and headlined major events around the world, from Nature One and Mayday to venues in Buenos Aires, Berlin and everywhere in between. He also ran his own events and founded the e-learning platform SINEE while evolving his meticulous style.

Inspired by his enduring work with modular synths, the new album was made on a refined modular system, processed into a signature sample pack and arranged in Ableton. The tracks were then mixed in analogue to create an organic, coherent sound aesthetic, meaning that '10 000 Black Seeds' is more than club-ready music; it is a document of Torwellen's own artistic development.

The title cut ‘10 000 Black Seeds’ opens up with drums so heavy they will rattle walls. Glitchy claps peel off the groove, and the atmosphere is brilliantly dark and moody. 'World(t)error' is just as big and powerful with rolling percussion and gritty warehouse vibes, until 'March Of The Transients' picks up the pace with quicker, banging drums and fizzing synths adding to the texture. There is eerie suspense in 'Alone In The Womb' with its elastic bassline and tense synth pulses, 'Under The Cloak Of Anger' has frosty static electricity running through the middle of the high impact drums and 'All Those Who Wander' has more thumping kicks and mind-melting synth details racing along before 'Children Of The Twilight' and 'The Ghost Orchard Mythos' close out this stripped back but powerful techno album with two more fearsome cuts.

‘10 000 Black Seeds’ is a fantastic sonic homecoming that reflects every facet of Torwellen’s signature sound. ‘March Of The Transients’ and ‘Under The Cloak Of Anger’ are out on 16th February and 15th March, respectively, with the whole LP dropping on 26th April 2024.

Based in Saarbrücken, Sven Sossong is an accomplished artist. He obtained his initial Ubar residency in 2011 and a couple of years later, his first release hit the shelves. His current residency at the Mauerpfeiffer Club was obtained in 2016 and he established the german techno label GRYPHON and its sub label, NALA MUSIC in 2018. He’s been building a massive reputation both locally and internationally with his amazing performances on the decks, immense productions. You can find his work has also been signed to highly acclaimed label such as Complexed, AnalyticTrail, InDeep'n'Dance, Orange Recordings, Phobiq and many more. A lot of support he become from famous artists like Joseph Capriati, Joris Voorn, Joyhauser, Eats Everything and more. Following a string of techno releases including his famous track Super Soaker, Patrick Topping sign him 2022, on his uk label ,,Trick’’.
