If you tuned into the latest GSGEDM Behind-the-Scenes podcast episode, you have heard all about Bart’s connection and deep love for Detroit techno. As we still ride the post-Movement wave, DJ Red D has crafted a 30 minute mix dedicated to that Detroit sound.

"The mix was recorded on the fly as almost all my mixes are. I took 15 minutes to wander through my collection and pick up some records that are made in Detroit or embody the Detroit sound/spirit for me. There are oldskool legends like Juan Atkins, John Beltran and Kenny Larkin in the mix, but also more recently surfaced names like Ash Lauryn in a collaboration with Atlanta’s immensely talented Stefan Ringer, whose music I picked up on through my Detroit friend Kai Alcé. And there’s also some Chicago heat, because the motor and windy cities are very much intertwined to me musically. As are house, techno, electro and more. To me Detroit music is about openness and spirit. For good measure there are also some European tracks that have all the elements I’m looking for in music: character and emotion."
