All good things must come to an end, but we do ourselves a disservice if we forget the good times just to live in the new times.

Good Times Floral Shop was founded by longtime friends Jared Abramowitz (lead vocals and synth) and Miguel Puma (bass guitar), who added Jack Eppink (guitar and backing vocals) and Harlan Friedlander (drums) in the fall of 2016 at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. This version of the band recorded GTFS' first EP "The Leisure Days EP", a rougher, more empty EP than what would come to be expected from the band, but a foundational piece that the rest of the band could be built upon. The band would next be filled out by Gabo Harris (guitar, backing vocals, and saxophone) and Austin Judd (synthesizer) to form the earliest version of the complete band. This is the band that began playing shows in earnest in Tallahassee. Making a name for themselves with their energetic live shows, highly danceable live tracks, and dedication to both sound and spectacle. After some time with this iteration of the band, Harlan left Tallahassee following his graduation and the group added Danny Oliva (drums) to serve as his replacement for the continued future of the band. In the transitionary period between drummers, GTFS recorded their second EP "The Floral Shoppe EP". This EP presented a more fleshed out version of the band's original concept. This EP feature more layered production, bolder guitars, live drums, and a significant amount of polished synth work. And on this new base, GTFS continued to gain popularity and traction in the Tallahassee music scene. They began to open for national acts, play on large stages for even larger audiences, and began work in earnest on a true first album. In the fall of 2019, GTFS began to play a new song live titled "Changing for the Better" and debuted a new single "My First Car". They played their biggest show yet, an opening slot for popular Disney Channel Act turned Alternative Pop Group Aly & AJ. All seemed poised for the climb to continue. But all good things must come to end. Good Times Floral Shop unknowingly played their final show on February 9, 2020.  With plans to continue their residency at the Wilbury following Spring Break in March. On March 11, 2020. The United States began to shut down due to COVID-19. Shows were pushed, rescheduled, and eventually cancelled as it became apparent that live music would not be returning for the foreseeable future. As the band navigated the early months of the pandemic, it became apparent that it might be time for people to start going their separate ways in pursuit of stability and growth. The band agreed that it was time to call this the end. The final project from GTFS never materialized due to a host of reasons from scheduling conflicts to technological malfunctions. The band instead has served as an incubation space for its former members to branch out and work on projects of their own. But there was always something special about the songs that they all played together. In July of 2024, most of the Good Times Floral Shop catalogue was removed from Spotify, and that's where I had the idea for this "album". A final farewell to GTFS, and a celebration of all the steps along the way. An Ode to My Friends, GTFS.
