Excellent opener ‘Infinity’ is a solid piece of uplifting techno that glides on a slick drum pattern. A shiny lead synth line has real depth and incendiary hi hats and tough claps help drive things along into outer space. Riding through various peaks and troughs, it is a truly moving cut.

Three strikes deep so far; Gregor Tresher ignites the GTO machine for another unique two-track techno excursion that digs deep into his past while staring defiantly at the future. 
First, the future: A place totally accessible with ‘Substance’ as it surges triumphantly into the unknown with a continuous cycle of new elements layering up over the laid back groove yet-relentless modulating pattern. Suddenly Gregor’s signature pads hit home and the future has landed.
For a taste of the past, check ‘Inhale’: A bass-heavy electro breakbeat that nods back to Gregor’s rich electroid history as Sniper Mode who released a body of work on Elektrolux, Mikrolux and Electrix during the early 2000s. Slinky-yet-sci-fi, spaced yet dense, this one will have you creeping right back to the source. 
Back to the present: Flug and Xavier Dokser’s Atoll build on the momentum they’ve developed on Inctacto with a breath-taking alternate take on ‘Inhale’. Pounding into tomorrow with raw drive and determined peak time darkness, it’s devilishly direct… Just as all GTO releases have been so far. Don’t sleep.

Frenchman POPOF continues his decorated career with a debut release on Truesoul. 

POPOF is an artist whose career has been defined by twists and turns. From delicately beautiful minimal productions like ‘Serenity’ on his own Form Music imprint, to peak-time house cuts on Hot Creations and his remixes of The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, his music is as unpredictable as it is impressive. 

Reinforcing the breadth of his output, he lands on Truesoul with a gritty three-track work, after impressing Adam Beyer with recent his ‘Confusion’ EP on MOOD Records, which featured on the Truesoul head’s celebrated Amnesia Terrace set at Cocoon Ibiza last year. ‘Vaporizer’ kicks off the EP in energetic fashion, driven by an electro-laced bassline that builds towards a thrilling crescendo. The title track ‘Enforced’ keeps up the intensity with a raw underbelly of menacing drums, acid and dizzying synth effects. ‘Placid Séquences’ sees techno, acid and electro fused together for maximum effect, rounding out the Frenchman’s high-octane contribution to the Truesoul catalogue.

About a year ago I launched my label IPSO. First release was a collab with Michael Mayer. We made Dogma 1 and 2, and the tracks have been in heavy rotation ever since. I remember a magical morning at Panorama Bar where we played Dogma 1. It was one of those moments we all live for, where everything fell in place. Magical.

This summer IPSO 002 is released and this time it's a collab with none other than Tiga. We spent a couple of great days in my Copenhagen Studio, and I'm really proud of what we came up with.
This is the first track "HAL" from the forthcoming IPSO 002 E.P.

The seventh volume of Drumcode’s annual A-Sides compilation hits with no less than 10 debuts for the label, with Charlotte de Witte, ANNA, B.Traits and Scuba’s SCB project, among the collection of topline artists to release their maiden productions on the imprint. 

Over two decades into its lifespan, Drumcode keeps evolving and excelling, pushing techno forward while remaining wholly respectful of its roots. This reputation for progression was further fueled this summer with its inaugural festival at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, featuring a long list of heavyweights including Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens and Ida Engberg, among others. 

As ever, the A-Sides compilation provides a timely opportunity to showcase the full range of its sonic repertoire, with Adam Beyer scrupulously selecting 22 unreleased tracks that have taken prime position in his sets over recent months. 

Outstanding all-round talent ANNA kicks off the compilation with ‘Portable Paradise’, a pulsating cut that sets the tone for the top-shelf club cuts to follow. Also entering the debut field with their first ever Drumcode dalliances are B.Traits and Charlotte de Witte. The esteemed Canadian selector offers up ‘I Feel The Music’, a euphonic track that’s been sought after since spring, and the Belgian ballista unlocks a thick-edged club bomb in ‘Remember.’

Leaders of Drumcode’s new brigade, exciting Brazilian Wehbba and British techno alchemist Boxia set out to impress. Wehbba’s straight-talking ‘Just’ hits with an immediate sense of urgency before neck-snap claps strike with force, and Boxia’s ‘Final Call’ elicits physical engagement with mellifluous vocals and soaring pads. 

Continuously looking to bolster the profiles of emerging talent, Berlin-based producers Weska and Juliet Fox are brought into the fold with equally engaging razor-sharp tracks that are primed to do lasting damage. 

Other notable highlights include an exhilarating workout from Reset Robot - the most released artist on Beyer’s imprint Truesoul – as he lands on Drumcode for the first time. And tastemaker’s favourite Jel Ford makes a welcome return as he ushers in techno rhythms with bustling breaks in ‘Nightshade.’

Elsewhere, support from label mainstays comes in from Bart Skils, who offers a work of consummate skill in ‘West Of The Moon.’ Alan Fitzpatrick, who’s been heavily featured across the A-Side series, joins forces with Scuba as he operates as his uncompromising alias SCB. The result is a propulsive floor-gripper that testifies to their masterful deftness as co-producers. Formidable duos Dense & Pika and Pig&Dan also contribute with powerful compositions.

The answer is simple: labels still serve as a dearly needed filter mechanism in this tsunami of music we're facing every day. Labels strive to establish trust between artists and listeners. They're like your favorite restaurant around the corner. On the spur of the moment, you might find more excitement in that hip place that just opened somewhere else. But when the novelty fades, you'll always return to your sanctuary. The safe place where they know your name and the last drink is on the house. KOMPAKT has become such a place for generations of fans and artists alike. And the TOTAL compilation series serves as its menu: always changing but instantly recognizable.

As per usual TOTAL is a collection of the past years biggest tunes, the creme de la creme of KOMPAKT's steady output of 12"s topped off with eight exclusive unreleased tracks that are also available on the 2LP vinyl edition of TOTAL 19.

With JÜRGEN PAAPE, the notorious VOIGT brothers, THOMAS/MAYER and JÖRG BURGER - all founding fathers are on board. Legacy artists SASCHA FUNKE and JUSTUS KÖHNCKE make their long-awaited comebacks, the latter with a kinky Patrick Cowley homage called "Mindless Sex Track". Cologne young blood JULIAN STETTER nails the starry-eyed, romantic KOMPAKT signature sound with his remix for an up and coming local pop outfit called ALBERT LUXUS. Fellow Colonian JONATHAN KASPAR makes his label debut with his slinky track "Renard". DJ BALDUIN definitely is one to watch in 2020. His massive "E.W.B.A." transcends the friendly populism of an ancient Love Parade anthem while capturing the sincere spirit of today's electro revival. REX THE DOG's "Vortex" and TOM DEMAC's "Serenade" perfectly showcase why KOMPAKT is still one of the most played and charted labels in electronic music today. In a scene that is more fragmented than ever these two producers delivered true consensus hits that are cherished on all sizes and shapes of floors beyond genre boundaries.

The second half completely belongs to a whole new breed from our beloved SPEICHER series such as ANNA, YOTAM AVNI, EXTRAWELT, RAXON, BLACKRACHAS, JOHN MONKMAN and LA FLEUR alongside our full time members PATRICE BÄUMEL, KÖLSCH and GUI BORATTO. The energy levels are way up and the mission reads clearly: We'll never stop dancing this way.

Chaptal's newest record, The Way, was conceived after a few too many knobs were turned on his Octatrack, sending Julien tumbling through time and space to capture decades worth of dance floor musical influence before returning home. GTO marks a new chapter in the career of one of modern Techno’s most prolific producers in form of a new record label: Gregor Tresher Originals. As the name suggests, Gregor´s original music is the focal point in this new adventure of an artist that really doesn't need much of an introduction to fans of electronic music. It's a rebellion from convention into a dimension where music is more than just heard, but experienced.
