Ling Lu is a quiet memory disguised as a song. Originally a rehearsal recording from the 90s, it was recovered from tape and carefully reconstructed in 2025. Sung by Kathrin Voss, it tells of a fleeting encounter – or perhaps an imagined one – with someone unforgettable. The melody is gentle, almost cinematic, with a touch of 70s melancholy and subtle European pop nostalgia. The lyrics unfold like diary pages: Ling Lu walks through dreams, disappears behind lights, and leaves behind a name written in ink. There’s no drama, no climax – just a lingering presence and a voice that asks softly, "Or am I just a girl who dreamed too free?" Barbonus kept the arrangement understated, letting the song remain a sketch – delicate, wistful, and surprisingly resonant.
