Jarle Bråthen moves effortlessly through the realms of Nordic Disco and House, blending vintage warmth with futuristic grooves. Based in Berlin, the Norwegian DJ, producer, and curator has built a solid reputation behind the decks at iconic venues like Crack Bellmer and Salon Zur Wilden Renate, as well as through his now defunct monthly residency “FjernstYrt” at Kreuzberg’s hidden gem Bohnengold.

When not performing, Jarle spends his time crafting infectious, analog-infused sounds in the studio. His music spans from solo releases on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp to collaborations as one half of Ytre Rymden Dansskola, alongside appearances on respected labels such as Correspondant, Luv Shack, Midnight Riot, and Walking Disco.

Drawing inspiration from Italo disco, 70s funk, and 80s synth nostalgia, Jarle reimagines these eras through a distinctly Scandinavian lens — delivering shimmering, groove-driven journeys made for late-night floors and cosmic dance moments alike.

I merged the live recordings of my techno sets from Moontribe's 32-Year Anniversary and July FMG using a 5-song bridge that I recorded at home to make a 2 hour 20 minute journey from dark to light

I had the honour of being booked to perform the Festival Closing Set @ Timeless 2025. Not only that but I had the privilege of playing on the Bassix Soundystem which is by far my favorite sound system in Canada!

It was a wild set full of smiling dancing people. The combo of silly, funky and badass was enthusiastically embraced by the crowd. We built an epic closing together!

Before I began my set I made a quick speech dedicating this set to the memories of Jonas Abel & Marguerite Blanche. 

My first performance at Timeless / Good Vibes was in 2018. I had retired from the festival scene for about 10 years. I had been in a rut creatively until I discovered this new style of funky bass music. Which inspired me to send in an application to perform. But I didn't have the confidence to propose just a bass music set so I gave them a few options of styles of set I could do.

This is how I met Jonas Abel. He booked me and insisted I play a set of this new weird funky bass music I had been experimenting with but had rarely DJ'd at a gig. 

He gave me the confidence to go for it and re-invent myself. Fast forward a few years and this style has completely re-vitalized my career! So cheers Jonas for being so supportive and recognizing how amazing this style of music is.

I warned him that putting me on the Main Stage after 10 hours of Psy Trance would clear the dancefloor and kill the vibe. He said that's fine, you will build a new vibe. 

But this wasn't exactly the kind of reaction I was dreaming of for my triumphant return to the festival scene after a ten year hiatus!

So sure enough 5 minutes into my set my nightmare came true and I cleared the entire dance floor except for one person : a young woman with a unique sense of style and unique dance moves who danced the entire set.

We had a private party just the two of us for at least 20 minutes before more people joined. By the end of the set we had a rocking dance floor thanks to her enthusiasm.

That's how I met Marguerite Blanche. In my most disappointed moment when I had cleared the entire dance floor she was my lifeline. We locked eyes and had a blast just the two of us.

So I dedicate this set to the memories of JONAS & MARGUERITE ! You were taken from us way too young. I'm grateful for how you touched my life when I really needed encouragement. 

You played a key role in my evolution from clearing dancefloors with my weird Bass Music to playing the closing set to the entire festival. Thank you. You are deeply missed by the community.

Personal narrative of the night: Humbling moments...
Performed on 3 CDJ 3000s and an A9 mixer - ask me how it went *sweats*. Let's just say, this one goes down in my books as most panicked performance to date. Cue emergency loop. Cue earth opening a hole to engulf me for the first 15 minutes and 4 tracks. Cue lessons learnt. If you were there, you saw the mortification on my face. The rest is history.  We think it went well.

Blood and Bone is a reckoning set to rhythm—an album built where the body meets myth, where memory scrapes against metal, and survival grows teeth. Its sonic palette threads drum-machine pulse through dust-bitten guitars, twang through circuitry, and flamenco flicker through industrial grit. Every track lives in the tension between ruin and insistence, between a world that shakes with fire, violence, wind, and destiny, and a narrator who keeps stepping forward anyway.
