I had the honour of being booked to perform the Festival Closing Set @ Timeless 2025. Not only that but I had the privilege of playing on the Bassix Soundystem which is by far my favorite sound system in Canada!

It was a wild set full of smiling dancing people. The combo of silly, funky and badass was enthusiastically embraced by the crowd. We built an epic closing together!

Before I began my set I made a quick speech dedicating this set to the memories of Jonas Abel & Marguerite Blanche. 

My first performance at Timeless / Good Vibes was in 2018. I had retired from the festival scene for about 10 years. I had been in a rut creatively until I discovered this new style of funky bass music. Which inspired me to send in an application to perform. But I didn't have the confidence to propose just a bass music set so I gave them a few options of styles of set I could do.

This is how I met Jonas Abel. He booked me and insisted I play a set of this new weird funky bass music I had been experimenting with but had rarely DJ'd at a gig. 

He gave me the confidence to go for it and re-invent myself. Fast forward a few years and this style has completely re-vitalized my career! So cheers Jonas for being so supportive and recognizing how amazing this style of music is.

I warned him that putting me on the Main Stage after 10 hours of Psy Trance would clear the dancefloor and kill the vibe. He said that's fine, you will build a new vibe. 

But this wasn't exactly the kind of reaction I was dreaming of for my triumphant return to the festival scene after a ten year hiatus!

So sure enough 5 minutes into my set my nightmare came true and I cleared the entire dance floor except for one person : a young woman with a unique sense of style and unique dance moves who danced the entire set.

We had a private party just the two of us for at least 20 minutes before more people joined. By the end of the set we had a rocking dance floor thanks to her enthusiasm.

That's how I met Marguerite Blanche. In my most disappointed moment when I had cleared the entire dance floor she was my lifeline. We locked eyes and had a blast just the two of us.

So I dedicate this set to the memories of JONAS & MARGUERITE ! You were taken from us way too young. I'm grateful for how you touched my life when I really needed encouragement. 

You played a key role in my evolution from clearing dancefloors with my weird Bass Music to playing the closing set to the entire festival. Thank you. You are deeply missed by the community.

TIMELESS 2025 - Festival Closing Set

Way of K never keeps you on the surface. His signature sound is deep and immersive, while always compelling your body to move.  Whether it's with a heavy bass line, an emotional melody, or a tapestry of beats, his meticulously crafted soundscapes leave you with a feeling.

His music blends elements from Melodic, Deep, Progressive, Organic and Tribal House, culminating in his own vivid style.

A world wanderer who came to rest in a coastal Ecuadorian village, Way of K has been exposed to music from a wide variety of cultures. This global influence combined with his unique background as an engineer and meditation teacher has given him a special relationship to sound.

His studio overlooking the ocean also serves as a meditation retreat center, where intense periods of musical creation are balanced by retreats for days at a time in total silence, with only the sounds of the rainforest and rhythm of the waves to influence him towards the next work of art.

When he’s not in the studio or guiding meditation retreats, you'll probably find him surfing. Constantly gathering inspiration from the relentlessly dynamic nature of the ocean.

From underground dance floors to global festival stages, GUAPO has built a solid reputation as a DJ, atmospheric guitarist and producer who thrives on the unexpected. With festival appearances spanning three continents, including Glastonbury (UK) and Telerama Dub Festival (Paris), his electrifying sets have earned him international recognition. 

His DJ mixes regularly chart in the global TOP 5 on Mixcloud, cementing a place in the world of Bass Music DJ's. As a Composer he was nominated for a Jutra Award for Best Film Score. 

GUAPO’s résumé boasts collabs with Grammy Award winners like Youth (Killing Joke, The Orb) and Luisito Quintero (Masters at Work, Tito Puente). As well as with Juno Award winners like Alpha Yaya Diallo. 

As DJ & Music Coordinator for fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier’s PINKARNAVAL and Cirque Du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté's TERRAKARNAVAL, he played to crowds of over 15,000 spectators, fusing music, fashion and circus arts into unforgettable spectacles. 

As a producer & guitarist, he contributed to multiple albums by UK world-beat pioneers SUNS OF ARQA, blending global dub grooves, classical Indian Raga and cutting-edge electronic production.

As a co-founder of the Flamingo Funk crew, he books bass music headliners to tour in Canada. He performed closing sets after iconic artists like breakbeat heavyweight Krafty Kuts and Swing N Bass founder Mista Trick. 

Combined with his explosive festival-closing sets at Tribunion Boreal, Khumeia, Timeless and Lucioles, he is building a solid reputation as a top notch closing DJ.

In his hometown of Montreal, GUAPO has performed at some of the city's biggest events, including Montreal Jazz Fest, Bal en Blanc, Just For Laughs, Lumifest, Eclipse, Good Vibes, Groove & Bass, and marquee venues like Olympic Stadium, Rialto, Metropolis, Place Des Festivals and the Satosphere Dome. 

Guapo brings his genre-blending sound to the airwaves with two monthly radio shows. He’s a resident on CKUT 90.3 FM’s The Magic Roundabout, founded by influential Montreal DJ Andy Williams. The first Sunday of every month Guapo drops the latest in underground Bass Music sounds. 

Whereas on LaFaceB.Live, he co-hosts Y Fait Chaud, offering monthly mixes that explore soulful House with an Afro Latin Brazilian twist. Previously, he hosted the world music show Global Grooves.

Musically, GUAPO is a sonic shapeshifter—his Bass Music sets are a wild tribute to sample culture, weaving together anthems from Funk, Soul, Blues, Reggae, Rock, Latin, Brazilian, Disco, Metal, Swing, and Hip-Hop. These classic sounds are chopped, glitched, and remixed into futuristic forms like Glitch Hop, Ghetto Funk, Breaks, Bass House, UK Garage, DnB, Ragga Jungle, and Swing & Bass.

But what sets GUAPO apart is his electric stage presence.
