"The sun of a mediterranean April began to warm my sad and disheartened soul from a period psychologically long and heavy to endure. A long period that has severely tested the peoples of an entire planet. I knew that to get out of it I would have to feed my spirit with music. But I was looking for a different kind of music, far from everything I had created so far. The desire to create something syncretic, transversal, highly energetic and spiritual, rich, ancestral and melodic, grew in me. I took a cue from this global situation to think about our destiny, about our sense of belonging to this place and this time. So I looked for a sound that was stripped of any categorization. A sound capable to elude any scheme by borrowing instruments, sounds, melodies from all over the world and blending them together. Whether it was a japanese taiko, a blues or latin melody played on the guitar, a duduk (and, why not, a panflute) or the voice of an opera singer no longer mattered. These elements so distant and different from each other had to dialogue together. I asked my best friend, Ueps, to accompany me with his guitar: I needed his company to face this sonic journey. “Les heureux tropiques” (The happy tropics) is a set of sketches from adventures of travelers that come to South America and fall in love with the warm breeze and the vibes we have. In the 3 original tracks, we go from Brazilian bossa, to Cuban son, then latin jazz, each one picturing a moment in the lives of all the people that come and fall in love with this land.
Completed by 3 remixes which are more dance floor oriented, the EP is the first release of blue Dietrich with Tropical Twista, and a perfect start in the label.

This Samples Pack includes sounds of real, rare and unique, sacred instruments that I recorded myself playing in Tulum, as well as some natural ambiences from sacred locations in the region.

You will get almost 1GB of completely 1 of a kind loops and one-shot samples including Melodies from wind and string instruments to Percussion, Natural Ambience, Giant Gong, Chimes, and a super special recording of a real shaman from Mexico making a prayer for the earth.

I recorded all of these instruments at the amazing store "Frequencies Tulum" created by my friend Jean, who puts a lot of energy into collecting quality instruments from around the world to sell in the shop. You can check it out on Instagram and purchase instruments online directly from them if you feel inspired! It's very difficult to find these kind of instruments with such good quality and selection.

Inside you will also find some photos and videos to accompany the sounds so you can actually see the instruments and ambiences that you are using in the music!

I created the sample pack with the intention of enabling more producers to use these scared sounds and healing frequencies in their music, considering having direct access to them is not so easy depending where you live!

Hey lovers!

Another spring has sprung and maybe also because it is much different than all the springs we sprang before, there's a sense of newness in the air.

Being nestled inside for so long, we ended up doing what we do best anyway: whipping up a nice warm release cake for our little sweet beaks out there.
Now that everyone has the time, kick back in your favourite sweatpants, enjoy a nice beverage and get sucked into a weird, cinematic dream created fully inside your ears, courtesy of our hombre from across the great blue puddle: jiony.

It must either be the Mexican sun, or they put something in his enchiladas as a child, but jiony's past years have been highly productive, to say the least. We've been eyeing (or earing?) him for quite a while now and it finally lead to his and our newest baby "Sí Y No".
Yes and No, an ambivalence that, in a way, reflects a state of mind that many of us know just too well in these times.

Here's to keeping up the spirits and delivering a little relief for your minds!
